What's this I see?

I was looking thru autoblog.com and found a photo gallary from Cannery Row at Laguna Seca. (Ducati is very well represented) WIsh I was there. Among a sea of motorcycles, I noticed a bike that I've never seen before. Maybe you can provide some background on it.

Sorry if this is a derby... I would do a search but I simply don't know what "it" is.

Looks like a Bimota; early Tesi3D maybe?

The Engineering looks unreal, but it must weigh a ton. All that frame around the engine and the front end make it look heavy

Incredible! Thanks for the background on the bike. I wonder what was the rational behind the front end mechanism, instead of the traditional front forks.

Most unconventional front ends are designed in an effort to get rid of front end dive under braking.

I saw that same bike at Ducati island at Laguna and it was so crazy looking! I thought it was related to Bimota somehow because of the non-traditional forks.

It is actually related to Bimota. The company that became Vyrus used to produce portions of the Tesi. I read a bit about it quite a while ago. Basically their idea was to out-Bimota Bimota.

I wouldn't kick one out of my garage, but the bank eventually would.
