Why would Lorenzo make that move? Seems to be doing quite well where he is.
I guess I would get it if he was tired of playing second fiddle to Rossi.

But then, Spies and Rossi? I mean, what a freaking team, but Spies isn't going to want to play second fiddle either. He'd give him the old elbows and knees.

Wait a sec... johnC? Who let you in here?! How's it hanging mang?

Money. See link above.

Rookies aren't allowed on factory teams. Some people over in Racing & Track days think they can find a way around that...like putting Spies on Tech 3 with full factory support.

What about Lorenzo and and Stonepants? From 250GP isn't rookie?
What about the Wild Card riders?

im tho confoozed.
Lorenzo moving to Honda seems like it would be a shooting himself in the ass.
Though that Honda didn't seem to have too many problems in the last race. I don't know what the poo that article was talking about mentioning Honda's loosing streak was purely a bike issue. Pedrobot was a broken little robot until now. Same bike kicked some ass last Sunday.

It's a new rule.  Dunno how it works with wild cards, but it's only for factory teams that also have satellites (Yami, Duc, Honda).

http://www.motogp.com/en/news/2009/Lorenzo+injuries+confirmed+in+Barcelona

Lorenzo is going to be an old man at 25 the rate he's going.
Same injuries, new race:

"Jorge Lorenzo underwent medical tests on Wednesday afternoon in Barcelona where his injuries from last Saturday’s Red Bull U.S. Grand Prix qualifying session crash were re-examined.

A CAT scan at a private clinic confirmed the diagnosis of Clinica Mobile from the weekend, with Lorenzo carrying a small fracture in the head of the fourth metatarsal in his right foot, contusions to the bones in both ankles and an ‘acromial clavicular separation’ (collarbone damage) in his right shoulder."

Sounds like some lame rule Puig pushed through to make sure his legions of menudo-esque teeny-boppers don't get threatened when they move up the ranks from the Red Bull Academy.

Puig is a such a make the beast with two backshead.  He actually blamed Hayden for getting T-boned by Pintsizey McAssface.

I disliked Pedrosa before I read that interview...  That pushed him and his asshat of a manager to a whole new level of hate.

I love silly season... =)
I think Lorenzo is a little crazy to give up what looks to be the best bike on the Grid. Even though one would think Honda will figure out the 800's eventually! (since it was their idea in the first place)
