So I take me new BSTs to have the tires swapped over and all. Well my wife picked them up today, and the front came back like this...

Is there anything I can do or am I stuck with a big or white line scar on my new wheels???

Kopfjäger

Holy shit.  :o  Who the make the beast with two backs did that?

They need to replace the wheel.
Woohoohoohoo! Two personal records! For breath holding and number of sharks shot in the face.

Slide Panda

is there damage damage?  What's causing the white?  Could it be buffed out with a *very* mild abrasive?  I had good luck with Meguiars PlasticX and a a sponge pad to buff a CF hugger to where I could see myself.

Perhaps someone with more experience refinishing CF will have in sights.
-Throttle's on the right, so are the brakes.  Good luck.

EPIC FAIL.
Tire tech = fired.
Where'd you have this done? They'll be replacing the wheel IMO.
Good choice on tires btw.

And that right there is why I swap all my own tires on my bikes (Ducati's and Honda's alike), but also my friends bring me their Ducati's, Yamaha's, Honda's, and whatever else. Heck, I just swapped out my racer friends bikes and spare wheels just yesterday and today (3 race bikes, and 2 sets of spare wheels).

Heck, just got a set of Diablo SuperCorsa SC2's take offs and a dyno run for my 848 in exchange of all that work.
She can't use the Pirelli's because she's contracted with Michelin.

There's no way I could hand over a set of rims that looked like that to anyone.

BC.

Did the culprit own up to it, or just put them in your wife's car good side up.  Not that it matters, honest or not, they should replace it.

And this, friends, is why I am getting a no-mar changer setup when I get sweet wheels ... Like my friend Steve.

Yikes  :-\

Spoke with them shorty after posting this. Manager is not going to be in till tomorrow and he has to look at them. Hope they make right. If not there will be some major hell raising  [leo] involved. These suckers were not cheap and I'm not a wealthy man.

(BTW the wife is in the dungeon for a week for bringing them home without saying anything to them)  [evil] She says he told her that it should just rub off that it's normal for  CF wheels to do that when you first put a set of tires on the. I can't wait to stand eye to eye with this fella.

Hell, I'm pissed and they're not even mine.  >:(

If they were mine, a tire tech would be in the ER having them removed from his ass.

Nope been giving this serious consideration. It will be up to the store manager to clean them off before returning them to me. BTW he will clean them with no hands involved.

I called the people to make sure they were competent in doing CF wheels. Don't know who the hell I talked to that day, but he sounded like he knew what he was doing and had done them before. anymatter how f'ing hard can it be to put a tire on a wheel???

PS the little white mark on the wheel goes all the way around...

I am going to take Beelzebub with me in the morning. My sweet black 85lb pitbull  [thumbsup]

Best wishes to get it sorted out.  Looks like the shop might get to have a used set of wheels for sale.

That sucks.  There is only one place (Spectrum Moto) that I trust with my BSTs.

Is that a PR2 tire?   If so, be aware that those are somewhat heavier than the PP.  If you really want to get the full benefit of the BST wheels, you might want to consider using sport tires instead of ST tires.
