Generally wash and dry after every ride.

All my rides average between 125-150+ miles.

Detail ,like every nock and cranny. Once a year.

Well....I had it for three years, and didn't do it once during those three years, so I guess I'd have to say once every decade. Give or take a decade.

I'll give it a warsh every couple weeks. Looks like hell after rain and my backpack tends to scratch up the seat cowl when it's dirty.
Detail? I did it once. Never again. I don't see the point as it isn't a show bike and after a ride it's dirty anyway. No sense spending hours cleaning it. Aint a Harley, and I'd rather ride than polish my bits.

Never. why?

<rant:on>

-No matter what i do, there is about a pound of gunk hiding behind my sprocket cover and sprocket from chain picking up dirt and grime, even if i just drive 5 feet out of my drive way.

-Because there is a huge oil stain on my exahust valve cover. (DS1000) and no matter what it wont go away unless i strip the paint

-no matter what there is always some kind of oil/grease/grime on my rim that takes a lot of hard work to get off. From time to time, ill soak my rim in WD-40 to wash it, but its too much work 99% of the time so this gets done maybe once a year. usually its just a rag to wipe of the brake dust...and thats only because i hate washing my riding gear.

-my tank. lets not get into that, from the number of sand storms ive ridden through from 20mph winds on the FDR, the 100mph leafs that hit my tank, and the bird poos on it, nothing will protect the soft clear coat except a harder clear.

- engine? sorry, ive tried my best to clean it. everything from synthetic cleaners to organic cleaners, and everything in between. short of using paint stripper (which worked btw) theres not much you can do to keep it looking good.

In otherwords, i could care less about detailing her. I just use a hose, a wet rag, a watever rag for the wheel, and a dry clean rag and a can of honda proshine. 5 minutes is all i need. everything else is futile.

[laugh] Seriously? I finished assembling it last May. It's had two baths. And they wouldn't qualify as "detailing". I clean and lube the chain way more than the rest. I painted it though to hide dirt. I wipe off grime if it's excessive. I'm a bad Ducati owner, I ride it like I stole it, tune and adjust it myself.... hell I built it from dead.

Grrrly

it's lucky if it gets a quick bath twice a year.

I give 'er a wash every couple of rides, and try to get a coat of wax on the painted plastic bits 2x per year.  Every now and then, I'll use Protect-All on the wheels.

+1 to paying way more attention to the chain than the other bits.

My main problem is all the bugs I kill here in S. Florida. But they tend to burn off on the next ride.

I wash it off now and again.  That consist of hosing it down, spraying with Bike Bright, and hosing again.  I usually spend more time on the chain then the rest of the bike.
