Tag rhymes with fag and you know how kids are. Just sayin Jud. It also sounds like a soap opera name.

Good name for boy..

"Bear"

It'll help sell him a little more when the scouts are checking out high school's for new "baller" prospects.

Btw...kidding! But apparently that works here though in the great state o texas!

On a serious note, whatever name you choose, please resist any urge to be "creative" with the spelling.  :)

Also, take into account your family name.  Case in point..."Richard" isn't such a bad name, unless your last name is "Holder."

"No son, we named you after the neighbors dog"   [laugh]

He's actually aware of the origin of his name.  He thinks it cool.  My buddy was respectful and named his dog something else.

My make the beast with two backsin neighbor up the street decided to name their ugly ass labradoodle "Summer".  Dog showed up 4 months after my daughter, Summer, was born.  grrrr

Some names we liked when we were shopping

Girl:
Annaelise (Ah-nah-lees)
Anna (I like the "AH-nah" pronunciation)
Lana

Boy:
Lucas
Samuel
Norman

A good site for research on popularity - I also searched the top names from the 20s and earlier for more traditional names:

Of course, it was a lot more fun brainstorming porn names for the boy.  My boy can look forward to using the nom de guerre "Rock Johnson" or "Hymen Hammer" if he ever decides to use his birthright for profit.

No no no.....name him John and spell it M-A-R-K. It'll be hilarious.

Whatever you name your child, do them a couple favors.

1. Don't name them after an object like Porche or Ruby.
2. Don't pick some totally random way to spell their name just to make them unique like Eiryk (Eric).

I had this one teacher that insisted on using "real" names and not nicknames. So there was a kid in class named Kenny. That was his real name but the teach refused to call him that and always called him Kennith because Kenny is a nickname for Kennith. Stupid old bat. [roll] Just a random story.  ;D
ErkZ NOT in SLO w/ his '95 m900!
The end is in sight! Gotta buckle down and get to work!

Mine is too, but when I named her, I didn't know anyone that was "planning" on naming their kids Sophia.  *sigh*

I had the same thing happen with my now 11-year-old, Ethan.  I didn't know any others until after he was born and then the name shot up the popularity lists like a rocket and has stayed there.  My best guess:  Mission Impossible came out the summer I was pregnant and all those hormonal pregnant women sat there and swooned over Tom Cruise.  I didn't find out until several years later that his name was Ethan in the MI movies.  (Never was much of a Tom Cruise fan.)

Gaspar, Melchior and Balthasar kicked me out of the band..... they said I didnt fit the image they were trying to project.
