So I got a spud on the way. Dont know if its a boy or girl yet. I've been perusing the baby name websites and the wife and I just cant agree on a boys name.
Our daughter is named Sophia- and it is just too common. I dont want to do that to the next kid.
For a girl its a toss up between Ruby or Stella right now.
For a boy I like Cody, Lane, Xander, Dominic, Milo
She like Vince and Tristan.

Any thoughts on these? Anyone have a name that has worked out well for them?

How about:

Valentino
Casey
Jorge
Loris
Colin
Mika
Sete

Just a few that came to mind from no place in particular  :P

I like Xander, I wouldn't name the boy Cody, getting pretty common. Milo strikes me as something you would name a pet. Tristan sounds too pretentious.

Judson
Taggart (Tag for short.......this would be my son's name if we were having kids, but we are not)

2008 KLR650 (wifey's bike, but I steal it)

Vindingo

Xander reminds me of that character from Buffy.

I like Dominic and Vince.  I am a little bias because my name is Vincent.  I think it has worked out well.  It isn't a super common name, but it isn't strange either.

+2 for Valentino. Even besides Rossi, Valentino seems like the name of a dude that is a pimp.

Triple J

We're deciding on a boys name as well...so I'm not giving up any of my ideas.  ;D

...but, I'd say no way to Xander. Sounds like a D&D nerd name to me (my nephew is named Xander, and my brother-in-law is a D&D nerd). No offense to the D&D nerds out there!  ;)

Judson just sounds too, I don't know, GAY to me...

You've opened a can of worms by asking for opinions, you will probably find someone who loves and someone who hates every name you can think of. ;)

I really like Milo because it reminds me of The Phantom Tollbooth, but I figured younger people would think of Milo and Otis.

Everyone I knew named Xander, it was short for Alexander, I never heard of Xander as a standalone name.

Be warned that Stella will inspire Marlon Brando wannabes.

For some reason Ruby doesn't appeal to me, but Jewel does.

Anyway, congrats on the impending arrival and good luck!

Regal, without being pretentious. Also the name of Francisco D'Anconia  ;D

Popeye the Sailor

Mr.Incredible would be a great name for a boy.

Also, a lot of it depends on your last name. It needs to flow.

Hahahaha

Yeah, my name is VERY common. But being born in the 70's, I'm just glad I didn't end up as Moonchild, or Moonbeam.

Seriously though, I have known people named Judd But never Jud or Judson...
