Got the bike all put back together after the valve adjustment. Everything there should be good. I get ready to fire the bike up.

Turn on key, fuel pump clicking loudly (tank was emptied).
Guages sweep normally.
Immobilizer light flashes once, flashes again and then stays on steady. I cant remember if this is normal.
When I hit the starter nothing happens. The headlight doesnt even flicker, the starter makes no noise....just dead.
The fuel pump continues to click away (like i said it was empty but how long should it do this before it gets fuel.

With the advice of He Man i checked all the normal stuff that gets a lot of people.
-Kickstand, start switch, checked all fuses, neutral etc. I was told to find the grounds and see if they are connected. I dont know where they are, I will look tomorrow when I'm not tired.

looking in the service manual I find the following RE: the flashing immobilizer light
"- a flash indicates a communication
error between the decoder in the
instrument panel and engine
control unit via serial line ISO 9141/
5
- two flashes indicate a failure of the
inserted key, the antenna on the
ignition switch or both"

also, this thing is not plugged in

I dont remember unplugging it and i dont know what it goes to. The picture is terrible as you can see, its some type of two prong connector near the fuse box. Perhaps a diagnostic plug of sorts.

I will be adding a video of the gauges shortly when youtube goes back online.

Did the small white connector at the solenoid get disturbed?

solved

ecu ground was going to the battery instead of the ground near the ecu

It grounds to a long allen bolt, when you look at it you dont suspect anything. It caused all kind of trouble obviously. The wiring section of the service manual is actually great thats how i found it.

Thanks for the help.
