never tried to get fairings professionally painted before, but my last rattle can attempt was a disaster.  I don't need pretty, just quick and cheap (matte black).  before I go searching for a shop is this even possible?  I need them by sunday evening at the latest.

This time of year it'll be hard to find a paint shop that isn't booked out a few weeks, minimum. If you need it PDQ, rattle can is the best option. There's a handy little doo-dad you can find in the paint section of most hardware stores, for about $5-10. It's a pistol grip style handle & trigger that just pops onto the spray can, and allows you to have far better control over your spray technique. I've used them dozens of times, and for the few $ extra you spend on it, you can really good results. And if you're just looking for a simple, quick & easy solution, it's the way to go.

What is Monday?  Any chance you can just run the bike with primer-finish on the fairings for now and paint later when you can get to a shop?  It'll be easier for a pro to do the work if you have not rattle-canned it first.

actually they are already painted, I just don't care for the colors (yellow & black).  the paint job is quite nice and it is a shame to sand paper them, but the yellow has to go.

anyone want to trade some red or black sharkskins for some yellow ones?  05 749.

oh and monday is thill  [moto]
