Thanks guys. I'm not mechanically inclined. It is not my domain what so ever. I just know enough to be dangerous. Most of the things I'm doing on my s2r I've read/learned from this site. So... really. Thank you DMF

This is indeed a great site!
You had the rear sprocket "painted" or powder coated? I'm wondering how it will hold up after some use.

Yes. It is powder coated... for now. I don't expect it to last long either

I figured why not?... It wasn't anymore or less expensive since i was having the swing-arm, rear sets and other bits such as the kick stand powder coated. If any of you are looking for a great powder coating place in the SF Bay area. Shoot me an email.
I am also about to hack off my stock pass. peg mounts and so on like you did.
If I may askwhat color and brand paint did you end up going with ?
Been having a hell of a time trying to find something that matches the stock frame color..
When you find a match pls. let me know

I took a piece of the bracket i chopped off to an industrial automotive paint store. Buddy there said he could not get me the match in an aerosol spray coz:
1. My sample was too small of a surface to use their matching tool on.
2. The shiny flakes(whatever it's called) Ducati puts in the paint used on the frame don't come in a can

So we chose something out of a catalog that best matched in terms of gloss. It's all you can do really for a rattle can.
I used SEM 39143 trim black. It says it matches factory finish on many automotive exterior trim components.
