If you still have that wheel the dealer lent you, keep it till you find a new wheel. I've bought and sold many wheels on ebay, I look on ebay for a good use rim.

http://motors.shop.ebay.com/Motorcycle-Parts-/10063/i.html?Make=Ducati&_dmpt=Motorcycles_Parts_Accessories&_fln=1&_qfkw=1&_sop=12&_ssov=1&_trksid=p4506.c0.m282&Part%2520Type=Wheels%252C%2520Tires

Thanks for the search!

I will continue to look, as the dealer wants $1300 CAN for the rim which appears to be about a year old.

I bought a set (F/R) off of a 05 monster 1000 in like new condition for less 500. A front rim should not be more than $300. Tell the stealership thanks but no thanks.

Yeah, the price is ridiculous.

Yes, I think that is good advice.  It looks like the front wheel of previous Monsters might fit too, so that gives me more options.

Are the 696 front rotors 6 bolt or 5 bolt? The S2R and older 2 valve Monsters are all 6 bolt...

what colour are your wheels? i scanned the previous post but cant see it apologies if youve said before.
For some reason i'm thinking Red.
cos colour matching black is easier

Reason i ask is i did a search in the uk for you and i've found a salvaged front wheel. I'm waiting for a reply on the price but i know the breaker is usually cheap as chips.
It has paint damage from having the trye removed a 3" scuff. thing is its black

That means the S2R1000 wheels may fit, since they are also 6 bolt. You might be able to use your existing rotors...

Another dealer told me that several other Monster models would fit, including the S2R and S4R.  I know I need a 3.5 X 17 inch Marchesini/Brembo 3 spoke wheel with a 25mm axle.  I am a little IZ_ on other details I may need to know.
