I am looking at a bike on ebay located in Long Beach.

For a case of a beer.......could someone in that area do me a huge favor?

We should get a gang to go visit the bike and intimidate the seller.  ;D

If nobody else pipes up I can help you out. It's about 50mi away for me but I bet that's a lot closer than you are.  :P It's been a while since I've looked at buying a bike though so you'll have to remind me what to look for.  :P

Dude, 50mi is way to far to drive!!!!

I have no idea either. Just basics:

1. does it start right up, how does it idle, etc.
2. does it look as clean in the pics
3. any spots of leakage, etc

Check for signs of a drop. Have the guy ride it up and down the street. Listen for weird noises.

Well, I might be in Long Beach for the dragon boat races this weekend.

Cyrus is not from socal.

He like most of the US think 10 miles is a long  commute.

50 miles here is nothing, just getting around a mountain can be 30 or more.

No kidding. He must also be from one of those odd places where they compare commute times in distance or minutes instead of hours.  [laugh]

Seriously though, if you'd like be to drop by, I can. I don't think I'll ever be able to test ride it for you though. I doubt I could even put 1 foot on the ground while the bike is upright.  :P

Thanks very much for your help, guys.

Yeah, commute difference is a lot different for me.

Yes, I live in a million population city, but you guys live in a multi-million citizen city with a huge geographic area.

I live 1.5mi from work.............. ;D

How tall are you, erkishhorde?

I am 5' 7" and sat on a GS1200 with a lower seat and actually had more "foot" on the ground than on my S4r.

I PMed Hbliam and he works by Long Beach, so he is a very potential recipient of my gift.

Which, by the way, has been upgraded to a bottle of liquor. However, it has to be a "reasonably" priced bottle  [laugh]

I am going to test ride a GS1200 on Saturday and after that.........I will know if this is a bike within my size limitations.

Thank you everyone  [thumbsup]

Wanna buy mine?  ;D I'm considering selling after the brake bleed discovery (it's getting fixed Saturday). Already has a custom dished out seat.  ;)
