The picture used was from this:

http://www.ridelust.com/frankensteins-monster-replica-of-73k-ducati-desmosedici-rr-built-from-a-monster-s4r/

Either the seller just used this link to fake the ad, or he just sold a modded S4R for $70K

Oooh! Busted!

How did you find the original picture?

It's just conceivable that the poster just did a quick image search and picked a picture he liked for the ad without really paying attention to the source. He did say he didn't have "time for any brand new new pictures," and if his father really did have cancer one would expect him to be distracted and rushed.

It's getting a bit difficult to believe, though.

If legit, I wonder how he arrived at the $35k figure. He could easily have sold it for $50k, or put it on eBay.

Maybe he only owed $35k and just wanted to pay it off and be done with it?... Still seems fishy.

Well, THAT is a complete load of BS.

There's a whole range of muscle cancers, including heart cancer. One type, the mysosarcomas, are among the nastiest of all cancers, but most muscle cancers are pretty bad.

IF legit, I'm glad the guy ended up w/ fair market value ($70k). However, I tend to be cynical about CL postings every time. I bought a NEAR MINT (listed) Honda rebel on CL that didn't have a battery and has gooey carbs. Live and learn.

Does one really need to raise money for cancer treatment of a father in London?  Don't they already have ObamaCare over there?

No mention of heart cancer on the American Cancer Society website...  I did a search
