Finally! A single sided fork.  Cannondale has been doing it for years, I was waiting for the motorcycle world to catch up. 

Guzzis in general kinda rub me the wrong way, but this one's a little bit nicer than ehh.  I'm pretty sure they yanked the wheels off a Lincoln.

that is a custom job.  that bike was originally a Griso, which is a fairly tame cruiser.

I like Guzzis, for some reason.  They've tried to make sportbikes and they look nice to me, but the engine is pretty heavy for sportbike use.  They've tried to lighten it up.  Part of the problem is the single-plate dry clutch (like on a car), which means a large-diameter flywheel.

I like Guzzis as well. I also think the Griso is one of the nicer looking bikes made right now, and the V11 Sports were bad ass as well. They may be heavy, but they have serious style.

...and that Guzzi is friggin' bad ass!!  [bow_down] I saw something very similar here in Seattle last summer...but it was cruising through an intersection so I didn't have a chance to get a good look. Bummer.  :'(

I test rode a Stelvio before I picked up my used GS. I actually liked the Stelvio better, but didn't want to drop $18K on a new bike...so I went with the used GS. We in Seattle have an excellent Guzzi dealer though (Moto International)...very lucky.  :)

One very nice similarity to the Ducati L-twin is the torque on those engines.  the transverse 90 deg twin has practically a straight-thru gearbox as well so less power is lost.  it's a very interesting design (almost teh same setup on the Fiat 500)

The Racing Guzzi shown above, I'm not sure how many exist, but there is one in my home town, it does not appear very often, but he brought it out for a Motorcycle show late last year, and it is very well built, and has a fantastic sounding exhaust!  I got some photo's of it at the same show, the owner has some very nice bikes in his collection  [moto]

motorcycle manufacturers have used single-sided front suspension arrangements since the 20s.

here's a semi-recent example:

the article also mentions why it's not as common:

This suspension provided improved stability under braking, but the improvement did not justify the additional cost for the consumer, and the bike was not commercially successful.

Much better looking sportbike than anything on the market.
