Hello DMF NorthWest!

About 7 of us are going on the Lost Coast ride from SF up to Fortuna/Eureaka this coming weekend.  Just thought I'd post up in the event you might have made this treck to Fortuna from your neck of the woods and might have any recommendations for a B&B or a quaint hotel in this city or in Eureka.

A few of us have already booked motel rooms in Fortuna as we're staying there both nights but it seems they are selling out asap due to the Humboldt County Fair that is taking place in Fortuna this weekend as well.  We've been talking about riding an extra 15 miles and sleeping in Eureka because motels can be just so blah...but then the group would be separated...

Anyway, the route we are taking is below and if you have any thoughts, I'd appreciate any recommendations.

Thanks much! Hope the weather stays nice! Smiley

Hey charlie'

that looks like a fun route given the squiggly line  waytogo

but I think the farthest south any of us are is Medford

I've been through eureka once but couldn't help you out as far as lodging

BNBmike has a B&B up in Pacific City so he may have an inside line on something in that area

Maybe someone in the Central Cali board is a little closer to redding?

or is the MOB the farthest North as far as Cali boards?

The only B&B I've had contact with is

http://www.trinidadbaybnb.com/

Just North of where you guys are going.

The innkeeper follows my blog and it looks like a real nice spot.

Tell Mike from The Craftsman B&B in Pacific City, OR sent you.  If he does not have rooms for you, he would be good to tell you where to look.  Innkeepers are very good in recommending other places when they are full.

Check them out.

BTW, those routes are on my to do list.  waytogo

Thanks Eeyore and BnbMike!
I decided to postpone participating in this ride as I had something come up for Monday so I can't take 3 days off.  But I have cut and copied your info for when I do make it up to the Pacific Northwest!  Thank you!

A few weeks ago 6 of us rode up to the Sierra's on a 3-day ride and stayed a night in Bridgeport, CA and Molekulomne Hills, CA = amazing old towns with tons of history! There's some beautiful country to be seen - we are lucky to live where we do!

Is there an active DMF in Seattle?  I went to high school there (but was obviously not riding back then) Smiley

Many thanks for your posts!

There are some active members in Seattle (most of us that post here seem to be in the greater Portland and Bend areas), most prominently Little Monkey Toes (AKA Czaja). I think she might be able to give you some more names.
