91-96 m900 -- where do I get parts?

So, I'm having a hard time finding a store online that sells parts for my 1996 m900.

Can anyone recommend a good online store?

Why an online store?

We have 2 dealers that sponsor the forum.

One does have online sales and the other gets rave reviews for their telephone service.

The rest of the sponsors can help with non dealer items.

what kind of parts?

dealers don't stock many items for that old of a bike.  but you would be surprised what you can order if you have the parts fiche and a number.

for aftermarket stuff and mods, check the sponsors as Nate sed... there are plenty others.  fleabay too for regular stuff..

I would love to make purchases from the sponsors of this forum, but I'm the kind of guy who likes to do research online and buy things online.

If they sold online, I'd buy. But if I wanted to call a dealer, I'd just call the dealer down the street from me.

And I'm looking for both OEM and after-market parts. Here is a list of some of the things I need:

1) New choke w/ cable

2) New light bulbs

3) Fuel filter

4) after-market clutch cover (I see several on eBay, but I don't know if they'll fit)

And there are a few other things, and then I'm sure there will be more in the future.

I believe the vendors here sell online.

Any Ducati dry clutch cover will fit.

now that's what i call cervix!

not sure which bulbs you need, but most are available at Autozone/Advance Auto.  The turn signal lights are "R5" type, about $3 for 2 of them.

Any M900 part should work for you, there's not a lot of change, so long as you stick with the carburetted models (up to 1999).

There you'll see an ugly website that has every diagram and part number that goes with an E38 (which is the '95 - '01 7 series for BMW). Now, you can't actually buy from them, but you could go to www.autohausaz.com or any number of other sites and enter in what kind of vehicle you have and they would only show you parts for your exactly make, model, and year.

That's what I'm looking for -- a good online store where I can go, save my information (1996 Ducati m900) and then see what parts they have for me without any guesswork on what will fit.

For the stuff  you are looking for... Try posting in the "Parts Wanted" section right here on our beloved DMF.
I'm sure someone has some of that stuff laying around.

As far as your clutch cover goes.. Motowheels has some cool stuff, and so does Jeff @ Monsterparts...
We've all survived on the sources right here on the forums, and on our sponsors... for a long time...

These bikes simply don't have the kind of audience, or service market, to put together the kind of parts-warehouse website you are looking for... Not cost effective.

If you find something, and you're not sure it fits.. Post up in the Tech section. Someone will tell you :D

BikeBandit USED TO have this available online, but they stopped selling Ducati stuff for some reason. 

The best you'll find right now is these guys:  http://www.ducatiomaha.com/products.asp

They don't have bikes before 2001 though.. Sorry, that is partly Ducati's fault.

yup, sorry i wasn't more clear

i think the distinction is TPG vs pre-TPG Ducatis.  TPG put in a lot of QA and automation after they came in, around 99 (bought in 96 but took them a while)...  All the parts inventories were computerized and digitized over time..  Cagiva used microfiche for everything with paper lists, so all the older stuff is still on fiche.
