A couple of questions for you HCG:
. did it cost you $9,000 US to fill up?
. did you have to pull down a wall to get that baby to the water?

If not, you're ahead in my ... ahh ... boat.

You seriously built a boat? I am genuinely impressed! Boat building is so far removed from anything I could see myself doing (well) that I never thought to actually come across anyone who had built one. Well done.  chug

I had a friend once (the drummer in my band, actually) who had a family friend who built a ~60 foot fibreglass yacht in their backgarden in Mosman, knowing full well that they'd have to demolish the house to get it _out_ (they craned the bare hull over the house, but knew they wouldn't be able to get a big enough crane down the street to lift the fully fitted yacht including however many tons of lead in the keel back over the house). They planned it that way from the start - bought a cheap house on a good block, spent about 7 years working on the boat, demplished the house and hauled the finished boat out, sold the land and buggered off in the boat for a decade or so...

I also built a couple of little plywood and timber boats - a 13' dinghy for my year 10 woodwork major work, and a few years later a 14' catamaran...

It cost Telstra $110 'cos their last bill was the construction material...

As you can see I took a chip out of the basin to get it into the water, but ask any boatie and they will tell you it's all about sacrifices.
