New plasmas and LCDs aren't prone to burn in.  My xbox has been hooked up to both with no issues at all.

I use my PS3 with my plasma. Never had an issue, even after playing for six hours straight.

I've been playing xbox/ps2/ps3/wii for 6 years on my 42' 1st gen Panasonic plasma, zero burn-in so with the most current models I doubt its even a concern...

However I did notice a dead pixle, it sat right on the speedo in GT4 so it was hard NOT to notice it  [laugh]

I've been playing videos from my comp on my Samsung A550. For a while I was leaving it on to use as speakers since I couldn't find my box that I had packed away my speakers in. I noticed a bit of shadowing when I was sitting within 4 feet of the TV but couldn't see it from the coutch which is closer to 6 feet away. I turned on the anti burn in features and it went away. No problems since but I've also stopped leaving it on a stationary image for long periods of time. No problems playing GTA or RE5 all day with the HUD in the same spot.

I've got a 2nd gen plasma from circa 2003 (GE Capital bought it for me on a warranty claim) and so far no burn-in. Even with DirecTV and the PS3 screen savers running on it inadvertently for hours.

Go for it.

I have my XBOX connected to a 50" Panasonic plasma and it's been fine. Burn in is actually pretty rare, but you can get some ghost images on a newer plasma. When I first got it, I noticed that stationary things on the screen like speedometers, HUD, etc would leave a ghost image. In the first week, it was bad enough that I left it on an unused channel with the "snow" effect to get rid of the ghost, which worked fine.

Now that the TV is a couple years old though, there's not been any problem at all. I rarely play longer than an hour at a time, but in that time I d not see any evidence of ghosting, let alone burn-in.

My friend has a 46" Samsung LCD he got about 6 months ago.  A few pixels burned out in the upper right corner from a grenade explosion playing COD WAW on the 360.  Samsung came and fixed it under warranty.  They said it was very rare what happened in his case.
