Nah...the idea was for me to be around my my buddies Birthday on Sunday, but now he might travel with his lady... bang head

Don't get all mad and make a "I'd go if my best friend could just make up his damn mind about what the make the beast with two backs he is going to do for his Birthday" list just for me...

Anywho, where are the meet up locations and what times?

Derby's a little MIA with updating the first page but most of the people are listed in the first posting. Specific times have not been discussed/determined as far as I know.

Usually there is a meet up time at several points along the way where riders from various starting areas gather to head to the main starting point. I am not sure about Long Beach but there is certain to be a group going up from the Santa Monica area.

Sounds good Steve waytogo  You & me & Ivan can meet up near Torrance someplace & then head north.  Let's see what time Derby sets up & then we'll go from there.

Wait, wait, wait... are you saying you don't ride on the street anymore? Or just that the bike is down right now and you don't really feel like it?

mostly, yes, and yes.

for that matter, how can a full on, un-modified street bike not be up for a road trip?

when it's already a couple hundred miles past service, don't have time to get it in before said trip, and said trip is a significant time/distance.

Long story short:
me: My project has a major milestone/deadline this week and I'm pulling a lot of hours.  A 2-day trip is not really appetizing at the moment, I need some downtime of the "not doing anything" variety.
s4r: Bike needs it's first service.  I haven't had time to get it to Nick's.
both: I've mentioned it before in passing, but I'm not really doing a lot of sporting riding on the street.  If I'm stressed and worried about road condition, traffic, other riders, bike setup, group pace etc then I'm not having fun and my head isn't in it.  Say what you will but I just don't enjoy it as much as the track. *shrug*  Am I fully stopping riding? not really, but _right now_ it's more of a commuting/buzzing around town thing than a bombing the canyons thing.

you kids have fun waytogo

the main reason this was scheduled as a 2-day trip was to allow for the people that were concerned about the distance or want to go at their own pace. neither of the major roads on this route have much traffic (if any) and tom just did a siting lap yesterday and says the roads are in perfect condition.
