Why is it that when its less than 75 degrees outside my bike runs SO MUCH better.  When the weather is above 75 its like a different bike.  So much so that I don't even ride unless its cooler than 75 (dont really use the bike for transportation).  I guess cuz its air cooled but I really didn't think it would make that much of a difference.  I used to ride only when the weather was 75 and above until I rode it when it was a bit colder the other day and WOW what a difference...

colder air is more dense. More Oxygen means more power. Therefore motors make more power when its colder outside.

how much more power?   I don't think that its just more power.  The engine seems to run smoother.  Are the liquid cooled ducs the same?

Every bike is different. My old M750 carbed would run better the hotter it got outside.  One trip in MI to the blessing of the bikes it was close to 100 degrees out and it never ran as smooth as it did that day.

S2R8, and I recently got a custom map.  I feel like it runs better w/ out the custom map in the heat but when its cold, man its AWSOME and SMOOTH.  Maybe different fuel/air mixtures are better for different weather conditions...I don't know though.

Sounds like it's a bit rich.

I'd think you could find a happy medium.

75 Degrees is the temp at midnight here in Panama, ..usually the avg temp is 90 and my 620D run fine, if it gets cooler, it means rain so it's get home fast time. When is hot, bike wont sputter, it's take a bit longer[bout 3 turns more] to start, but, my seat of the pants dyno is not so finely tuned to notice that much of a difference. [drink] [bacon]

I think I have a very good seat of the pants ass dyno.

Are you using a PCIII? If so, you can take out some fuel via the faceplate buttons to see if that helps (too rich). It was most likely tuned on a cooler day. Mine was, and I had to take out fuel on the low end to remove some slight bogging from an over-rich mix. Just one bar (2% I think) was all it took to be SUHWEET. If ya need a step-by-step on this, lemme know...

My S2R1k, likes to be @ 220 degrees. anything less it feels sluggish, anyhting more it feels like it has no power.

my M944 only liked hot weather, i didnt have a oil tmep gauge on it though.

OMG, you just triggered a memory that I had the day I had my bike tuned.  I remember that I set the schedule and I didn't want to cancel on the tuner EVEN THOUGH THE WEATHER WAS COLD AND CLOUDY THAT DAY! WOW didn't think the custom map would be that sensitive.  So I guess the lesson here is never get a custom map when the weather is too hot or cold.  I actually did mess w/ some of the tables in the lower end of the rpm/throttle range and leaned them out but I think I am going to put the original map back in and do what you did w/ the face button.....o yeah. THANKS.

HeMan yeah my S2R is happy in that exact range.
