I am thinking of upgrading the wheels on my "04 620 monster.  Being a cheap bastard I am leaning towards using used "takeoffs" instead of speding the big money on nicer, lighter but much more expensive wheels.
I've been doing some research to try to find the wight savings of various OEM ducati wheels.
What I have found is;
the stock 3 spoke cast alum. wheels list at 11.5 lbs front, 13 lbs rear.
5 spoke cast alum. wheels list at 9.25 lbs front, 12 lbs rear.
5 spoke cast mag. wheels list at 6.8 lbs front, 8.7 lbs rear.
I don't know the accuracy of these wieghts but they sound ok.  The 5 spoke cast alum. wheels seem to be the most common and are what I will likely go with.  Does anyone know what bikes came with the mags. though, if any even did?  I have read that 999 wheels should be avoided due to the 5 bolt rotors and different offset.
The front seams like it should be easy as any wheel off a 998 or 25mm axle monster should bolt up using the same spacers as the factory wheel.  On the rear, can I just use spacers designed for a monster whith the wider wheel?  I do have the alum. swingarm if it makes a diff.
