cliff notes on brammo enertia "rally":
  • dork sits on brammo electric bike
  • dork start brammo bike (is it REALLY started?)
  • dork twists throttle wfo
  • 2 mins later, brammo electric bike catapults to an amazing 38mph (kids, don't try this at home ... these are professional electric bike racers in the video)
  • viewer screams "wtf is that horrible noise?  oh, it's the brammo electric bikes sucking"
  • sloth on left side of road passes the brammo enertia.
  • 1 min later, viewer falls asleep
  • 2 mins later, video ends

Ah, so those are the badass Prius drivers, eh?

Seriously though, this is getting out of hand. I go to my local Best Buy today, and they have like 6 different models of electric bikes and scooters on the showroom floor. WTF?

Of course they have top speeds of something like 20mph and range of between 12 and 20 miles. Pffft.

Oh, and to protect that empty head should you have bought one, they'll sell you a $49 helmet.

On the shelf next to the melamine-laced dog food. I can just picture asking the Geek Squad about DOT and Snell ratings.

Hmmm. Buddy rode one of the other electric bikes last weekend. He said it didn't completely suck and had a top speed of about 60.

I think it's a bit like the dawn of the internal combustion engine all over again: Most of the designs suck, with a few bright spots here and there.

Back in my day, they didn't have a deer flag at Infineon, they had a Brontosaurus flag. And the dinosaur class was guys racing actual dinosaurs!

In my day BlackStoneTek wheels were actually made out of black stone, and we got our motor oil straight from the dinosaur. None of this "drilling out of the ground" crap you punks do today.
