HELP chain is slipping out!!! eeeek

Here's how it should look when assembled:

ohhh DUHH  heres how mine looks like, i guess i messed up pretty bad!!! did i install it inside out too?

and here i had to take the plastic piece off because it was rubbing against it

turn the sprocket over so the teeth side is on the outside. It should line up then.

actually i just checked my stock sprocket and it looks like the sprocket is suppose to be on with the teeth in, or maybe not i dunno but the stock sprocket has the sprocket retainer in-print on the side i installed it on. sorry i don't know if that even makes sense

You're correct, teeth toward the inside for a 695.

The pic I posted is of a 900 motor, sprocket is teeth out on those because of the wider rear rim on 900s.

Really, I haven't been on the 695. I was thinking like my 900.

Put your chain guides/guards back on....it is supposed to rub against them.  Unless you prefer your chain taking bites out of your nice new swing arm.  Since the chain is made out of very strong, dense steel it will eat everything else in its way.  Unfortunately, my swing arm has the scars to prove it.

What chain?    That looks like a sprocket to me.

i think it might be slipping out because i didn't tension it evenly? i re-tensioned the change again and took it for a ride its still slipping but not nearly as far. i'll try to take a pic of it after i ride tomorrow, i tapped it even already.

Btw, if you have problem....riding it further in a case like this particular one to try and find said problem is not advised.

That's not dirt incased in oil.  That's black gold!  That's what holds some peoples bikes together and keeps them running.
