Whatever happened to Leigh Farrell (Of Cafe Racer fame) last I heard he was doing work out of his own backyard, will have to check my sources....can anyone confirm this?

I've heard similar.
I've also heard that Indian Jim had a couple of ex-Cafe Racer mechanics working for him including A.L....
