Boise State easily beats Oregon!
Didn't see that one coming.
Plus, Oregon's Blout will likely get suspended for post game punch.  Childish idiot.  Can't wait to hear what the NCAA has to say about that.

If I had to pick allegiance to one college team, it would unfortunately be the Indiana Hoosiers.

My parents both went to college there, along with my oldest brother who played football for 2.5 seasons.

However, the Hoosier's are just disappointing to watch.

Example: Last night.

holy shit..........they won.........sort of.

1-0 nonetheless.

Absolutely they do. Down here we like to call 'em Choklahoma  ;D amongst far worse things.

Both Stoops and Tressel started out well in big games but have since had a poor stretch. Either way, they're both outstanding coaches who will turn around that trend eventually, just as Mack Brown turned around his big game failures over time.

I always call Oklahoma the Ohio State of the big 12...  Mostly just to get my Buckeye friends wound up.

To tell the truth, I respect both teams.  Just give me two really strong teams fighting it out on a Saturday afternoon and both laying it all on the line and I am a happy person.  I don't even turn on the NFL until after the bowl games are over.  Say what you like about the BCS, every game is do or die.  NFL doesn't even come close.

Of course, as a Nebraska fan, I haven't had much room to talk trash recently.  Here's hoping for the turnaround to continue!

It would have been worse if the cop hadn't of stopped him from hitting that fan too.  Dude, needs a wake up call.  I wouldn't be surprised if he gets 3 games or more.

On the bright side, punch looked good.  Could have a career in MMA. ;)

I hope he gets suspended for the season.  He should have really spent the night in jail for that display of animal intelligence.

agreed!

Yes, it is football but going over and punching him after the helmet is off?!   He should lose his scholarship over it!

Yeah me too.  Michigan is starting to make the Big Ten even worse. I'd be surprised if they get to .500.  Rich Rod's arrogance is causing some really big problems within that program.

2113 days since Michigan beat Ohio State ;D

not to mention the school is now investigating claims they practiced longer than the allotted NCAA time

Things aren't going well up there in Ann Arbor

but

their academic programs are still strong and better than Ohio State's  ;D

Blount should get a 3 game suspension for the punch to the BSU player. It was uncalled for, but who knows what the BSU player said to him to provoke it. Granted Blount was trash talking before the game so he had it coming, but the BSU guy should have showed more class in winning. The BSU coach should suspend his player for a half, or maybe a whole game, for provoking the whole thing.

Blount should be suspended for the season for going after the fans though. That was ridiculous.

BSU looked tough. Their defense manhandled Oregon all game.  [thumbsup] Their QB is going to be crazy good by his senior year. He made some very nice throws.

^  The nationwide exposure of Oregon/Pac10 and Boise St/WAC didn't do much for the Pac10 either.  Just wait'll Saturday when Nevada whips the Frightened Irish and WAC stock will go even higher.

As a Nevada fan I just don't like Boise St, only because they beat us regularly in recent years.  But they have a great team, a great coach and a great program.   It was an impressive game last night, especially the first half.  I can't fault them too much for not being able to maintain the same intensity level for 4 quarters.

I think it helped the WAC more than it hurt the PAC-10. The WAC is still a weak division outside of a couple teams though. People like to bag on the PAC-10 as being weak, but they were 5-0 in bowl games last year. It's not a weak division...Oregon just isn't that good of a team. I'm a Cal fan (and alumni) though, so I get tired of hearing the "PAC-10 is weak" criticisms.

I agree about Boise...I'm a Nevada alum also...and remember when we used to own BSU. But, they're a good team with a great coach. I'd be a fan if I didn't like Nevada. Hopefully Nevada can beat the Irish this weekend, and give BSU a tough game later on.  Kaepernick just needs to learn how to pass more effectively...which he should be able to do with Ault as his coach. That guy always develops great QBs. Ault also has to learn how to win the big game. Hopefully this is the year!  [thumbsup]

^^^ I'm usually all for strong disciplinary action in these cases, but I think the whole season is too much. I guess the prior history of missing team meetings last winter made a difference.

Also thought it sucked that the BSU player got NOTHING.

^  I think time will tell with Blount.  They didn't cancel his scholarship and I don't think they kicked him off the team.  If his behavior is perfect from here on out I have a feeling they may re-instate him towards the end of the season.  However, that seems to be a real big "if" and a real big "may".

This is a tough situation since the Boise guy did start it.  And if he'd been mature enough to not taunt, Blount would still have his career.   The Boise guy I hope at least learned to be careful who he messes with.  That was a very strong punch and if he'd caught it full face, which he would have were it not for Coach Peterson's interference, his career might be over too.
