If you ask me, the PAC-10 has the most balanced and deep conference in the country.

I agree. The SEC is very good too though.

I haven't watched TCU enough to know if they're the best team in the country. They definitely deserve a shot at the NC though...as does Florida, Alabama, Texas, Boise, etc. Bring on the playoffs already!!  ;D

I have watched TCU several times this yr, and I'm not convinced they're near the level of the big 3. The depth of talent isn't there, and in a tough, physical game, I don't think TCU would last 4 quarters. That said, I'm going to enjoy seeing them in a BCS game. Hopefully they won't get stuck facing some chump like Cincinatti, so we can find out how good the Frogs really are.

And to those underestimating Bama and Florida, that's a mistake. Those are two of the nastiest defenses I've seen in a while, particularly Bama's.

As a Texas fan, I'm disappointed that the schedule hasn't been tougher, but OU and Ok St were both expected to be better this year than they turned out to be due to injuries and suspensions. Plus, both Utah and Arkansas pulled out of games with the Horns. Guess they figured an early season ass-whoopin' wouldn't be good for morale. It's kind of scary to think that Texas won't really be challenged until the NC game. Sounds almost like the sacrificial Buckeyes being fed to some rabid SEC defense, like in years past.

I might be a little overzealous with my thoughts on FL/AL and I know their defenses are good but ask AL how that worked out for them against Utah last year.  These smaller schools play inspired while the big boys think they can't lose.

If there are 6 undefeated teams this year it will make the BCS look bad and hopefully spur some change and at least get us a plus one format.

I think OSU is losing to Michigan in the Big House.

At least that is what I am hoping

Nice try bud.  If it wasn't for the ref's giving them the game against Indiana they would have no wins in the big ten.  In fact Indiana is the only big ten team they have beat under RR.  They'll score some points but this is the one game every year where Tress opens it up and actually trys to score every possession.  With the defense having a mediocre game against Iowa they will be gunning for little Tate and his promise to take M to a bowl game.

I used to think this about the small schools...until Boise beat Oklahoma a few years ago. I still think it's true, just that it takes more than 1 game to play out. Another reason for...a playoff!!  ;D ;)

Agreed. 1 game doesn't prove much in the long run. I mean, anyone think that the Stanford program will now be at the level of USC's going forward? After all, Stanford blew SC out. And as for Choklahoma, they are woefully underprepared in just about all their BCS games. I hope they keep Bob Stoops around for years  [evil]

I am rooting for TCU to get to number 2 - I think it could happen, but they need a lot of help from Texas to loose.

That's not on him that's on Tressell.  He did what he was asked to do.  As long as he doesn't throw interceptions than I'm okay with it.  I think Tress's game plans kill Pryor's confidence and I'm really starting to not like the situation.  You can see that TP is trying really hard to get better and not make mistakes but it is taking away from his natural abilities.

It's best that he doesn't throw.

who knows what will happen with pryor. However, watching Vince Young as a sophomore, I thought he would never become a decent passer. In his junior year, though, the offense was adjusted for vy's abilities and opened up. He completed 62% of his passes and led an offense that averaged over 250 yds in the air and on the ground. For this to happen with pryor, tressel would actually have to be willing to change though.

I agree that the SEC is overrated because of the media attention. The case can be made for the PAC-10. I would love TCU to get a shot at the championship. It would be great for the game if teams like TCU, Cinncinnati and Boise were in the conversation. Yes, they are not the year-in-year-out powerhouses of the big-time programs, but, as been proved by Boise and Utah in recent seasons, in any season, these teams can win in a one-game scenario.

I think the Big-10, the Big-12 and the ACC are down. That's opened the door for the "lesser" leagues such as the Big East and Conference USA. Competition!

Now, can Stanford get a little love? They certainly smacked my Trojans around after beating Oregon.
Nobody said that I did. Everyone says that I would.

Yup...Iowa going in was a 17 point underdog. Can't count out the other mediocre teams in the Mediocre Ten.
But Randy is right...every loss is another loss closer togetting Dick Rod the make the beast with two backs out.
At this point, I can't decide who I want to piss on and light onfire after drinking kerosene worse...Dick Rod or Faggy Sweater Vest...
