By the way,

Against offenses averaging over 30pts a game this year the Buckeye defense gives up an average of 9pts.

We'll see about a meltdown.  As stated above Tressel is .500 in BCS games.

Oregon should win by 10.  [popcorn] Another PAC-10 beat down of the Big 10.  ;D

OSU doesn't appear to have faced an elite running back. Wisconsin had the best back out of all of their opponents, and he's ranked 23rd in the nation. Oregon's back is ranked 5th.

Oregon is ranked 23rd in total offense. The best OSU opponent is ranked 32 (Penn State).

OSU did beat Navy (barely), which is ranked 3rd in rushing offense...but they have no pass offense (119 out of 120). Oregon is ranked 7th in rushing offense...and has a somewhat decent (89 out of 120) pass offense to complement it.

The next best rushing team OSU faced after Navy was Michigan...ranked 25.

OSU does have a very good defense...I just don't think they've faced an offense as good as Oregon's this year. Of course, the best defense statistically that Oregon faced is BSU...and we saw how that went. USC's defense is a close second though and Oregon hung 47 on them.

Should be an entertaining game either way.  [thumbsup]

Go Oregon Ducks.  Last night's game was great, unless you are a Beavers fan.  Ducks have come a long way since being beaten by Boise State.  Even Blount is back.  Personally, I think that Oregon should have kept him out for the entire season.  What he did should have been classified as assault.  Either way, he's back and OSU's run defense will surely be tested in the Rose Bowl.

FWIW:  Even though Oregon embarassed Cal, Stanfurd put the smack down on Oregon, and then Cal defeated Stanfurd in The Big Game.  Go Bears!

  Even Blount is back.

That is bullshit.
QuoteEUGENE, Ore. - Star running back LeGarrette Blount won't play for Oregon again this year. The school suspended him on Friday for the remainder of season after he slugged Boise State defensive end Byron Hout.

QuoteBlount's career as an Oregon player needs to be over. If football programs are the ultimate public relations tool for a university, which they unfortunately are, then there can't be any incidents like this of such a high-profile nature.

suspended indefinitely, or until we want to play him again.
screw Oregon.

SwampDuc: I am "galled" about Texas because I haven't forgiven them for beating USC in the title game with Vince Young's winning TD.

Beyond that, I think the Big 12 suffers because so many of the teams are pass-oriented, spread offenses, and the defenses in the league are geared to stopping that style. I think they struggle against teams that are more balanced on offense and can run the ball. The Big 12 is now a shoot-out league.

Now that we're all embracing TCU, can Cincinnati get some love?
Nobody said that I did. Everyone says that I would.

I'm conflicted on this.

On one hand I think Texas is the only team that can compete with FL/AL but I would love to see Cinnci get a shot.

Cinnci goes if they beat Pitt and Texas loses.  TCU might be a better team but Cinnci is in a BCS conference.

All in his first few seasons with Cooper's players.

His national championship wasn't even his players or recruits!

Haven't they lost the last 3?

Silly Jud...there you go again using facts and statistics against an Ohio State fan. Don't you know those kind of arguments won't work??

Funny Zltful, how many BCS games has Michigan won?  I think Michigan would kill to have a coach win with anyone's players.

How about this record, 8-1 with 6 in a row? Hard to take your smack talk seriously when your team can't make it to any bowl game 2 years in a row.  When you have a winning record I'll listen. Maybe if Michigan would step it up and win the Big Ten they can get embarassed nationally too, not just in the conference.  Oh sorry, forgot about the Appy State game.  Damn, wish I could talk smack to other teams but the Buckeyes can't seem to beat anyone big lately ;D

Pretty sure Tress won 2 other BCS games with his own players and oh yea Clarett was a Tressell recruit and he was the best player on the team.  I'll be the first to admit that we shouldn't have played LSU 2 years ago.  Damn WV losing to Pitt screwed us!

Only Pete Caroll has a better record in BCS games with the same number of NC's.

So they've lost the last 3, their still one of the better teams in the BCS era. I get it though, we'll see what happens on Jan 1st.  All I can do is stand by my team and support them until they win a big game.  Oregon better bring it.  I'm prepared to hear everyone not giving OSU a chance (rightfully so) until they win a big one.

If Nebraska only had an offense...

Any offense at all would work.  Even a completely average one and we would be unbeaten.  Still, I consider this a very successful season after recent history.  Beat Oklahoma.  Within 1 second of beating Texas.  Nebraska has respect on one side of the ball, now on to the other.  We shall see what the bowl holds for us.

rockaduc

A BIG congrats to the Tide.  Feel sorry for Texas now though.  The SEC is all but guaranteed another NC.
The Cincy/Pitt game was crazy.
If you can see Chuck Norris, he can see you.  If you can't see Chuck Norris, you may be only seconds away from death.

Nebraska should have went for it on 4th down in the red zone.  Texas really made a slight chance for Cinnci or TCU to get in but if not they are going to get rolled by the Tide.  Loved seeing Tebow crying on the sideline :'( :'( :'( :'( :'(

Cinnci needs to find some D before their bowl game.  Pike is ridiculous.

Florida had a meltdown on Alabama is really good.

Florida's meltdown will be like the Buckeye's in the Rose Bowl.
