Didn't see them play at all this season.  Weird seeing Gilbert playing on TV though.  I worked at Lake Travis High in Austin last year when he was a senior.  Good kid and a great QB!

While I am happy that 'bama won last night, I was disappointed that Colt got knocked out of the game. But Gilbert made a game of it...that boy sure does have a future in the sport.

thank you. All I'm hearing around here (new orleans) is how superior the sec is 
bama got real lucky, but I like seeing traditional powers do well. And Gilbert gave me some hope for next yr when Texas will have 4 new o line starters <shudders>

I think the Texas defense was playing harder/better than 'Bama's...and their offense seemed to have 'Bama's number with the deep pass. Most likely a different outcome with Colt in there. Can't fault Gilbert...that's a tough game (understatement) to get thrown into like that...especially with no running game to help you out.

It's a farce that Boise is 4th in both polls.  They should be ranked ahead of Florida at least.

this has been discussed already, but do you seriously think Boise would beat Florida? Seriously?

It is hard to predict how Boise would match up against Florida, Alabama, or Texas.

What I can say is after watching the NC game, Alabama's defense wasn't as good as everyone said. They were vulnerable to the deep pass...as shown by a true freshman QB in his 1st start. BSU has an excellent pass game.

Texas is a bit one-dimensional on offense, as their running game was lacking. BSU has a good pass defense.

Alabama looked one dimensional on offense as well...their QB was only something like 3/5 at the start of the 4th quarter.

'Bama beat Florida...that's all I can say. Florida looked great against Cincinatti.

This all isn't saying Texas, 'Bama, and Florida aren't very good teams. They are. BUT...they all have flaws. Because of these I think BSU could match up with them. BSU's biggest flaw is their O-line and D-line are smaller. Hard to say how important that would end up being.

BSU at #4 sucks to me, but they can't be that upset about it. I think they deserve #2, as I don't see how one-loss teams can finish ahead of them...but whatever.

The ranking that matters is the pre-season ranking. BSU only loses two starters next year, and they play Oregon State and Virginia Tech (probably a top 10 team). If they start out ranked in the top 5 and go undefeated again they deserve NC consideration (depending upon what other teams do as well).

edit: Oh yeah...you can't discount coaching either. I don't see how anyone can argue that BSU isn't the best coached team in college football.

Out of curioisity...have all you BSU haters seen any of their games this year besides the Fiesta Bowl?
