Using Florida's win over Cinnci is not a great example.  They have absolutely no defense at all.  Florida played a great game and their defense was stout but that game went exactly how it should have and do I think if Boise played Florida they would win.  Yea probably, 9 times out of 10 no but they were clearly a very good team this year.

Congratulations to Alabama on it's 13th National Title.  [clap]

Also to Mark Ingram for running for over 100yds carrying the Heisman on his back.  [bow_down]

He gets 90 yards by halftime on his way to a game-high 116 yards rushing with two touchdowns in 22 carries. Longhorns had given up an average of 62.2 yards, best in the nation.

As far as I know Colt doesn't play defense.  ;)
Woohoohoohoo! Two personal records! For breath holding and number of sharks shot in the face.

Agreed! Bama destroyed Florida, and we'll never know, but I believe Bama would have won even if Colt played the entire game. Too strong on both sides of the ball. Bravo!  [bow_down]

Out of curioisity...have all you BSU haters seen any of their games this year besides the Fiesta Bowl?

Yeah, they had a tough schedule.  [roll]  Oh, and I don't hate BSU. Their just not in the same league.

Colt doesn't play d. He does however sustain offense. That keeps the defense fresh. If Texas had been able to score at all in the 1st Nama would have been in deep shit, because they would have had to resort to that Pop Warner passing attack of theirs. Still, congrats to bama. God obviously wanted them to win, because god knows, they couldn't have done it on their own  ;D

Arguing game outcome after the fact is nonsense. One game was played, one outcome decided. Had Texas won, I would be hella disappointed, but I would say the same thing.
Colt McCoy was injured in this game. Dont'a Hightower, Bama's defense leader, was injured in our first couple of games. People get hurt. Ask Sam Bradford. Oklahoma could have beaten Texas if Sam was in the game. We'll never know. If Mexico had heeded the Zimmerman letter the outcome of WWII could have been different.

Bottom line, in a game between two amazing teams, Alabama came out on top *IN THIS INSTANCE*. I have an insane amount of respect for the Longhorns, and I cheer for them normally, and ESPECIALLY when they were whoopin' that ass against USC not long ago.

Please don't take m wrong; I've got a great deal of respect for bama's program. In fact, when watching sec games, bama is the only team I pull for. You should have see the dirty looks I got from lsu fans when bama was whooping their tails on a cold night in tiger stadium back in 02. I'm just disappointed that we'll never really know what would have happened in this game, an I think sec fans and the press vastly underrated Texas before this game.

I definitely agree with that! We (well... some, not I) 'Bama fans are known for our rather elitist attitude. It was the way we trounced Florida, and the way Texas struggled with Nebraska (Suh in particular) that sort of skewed everyone's view. Had Texas swamped Nebraska, or 'Bama barely scraped by the Fighting Tebows, the attitude of the media and the fans would have been more realistic.

Too bad...Texas would have crushed 'bama had McCoy played.

Looks like Carroll is out at USC, I see problems for the Trojans in the future.  Hopefully they will finally get in trouble for all of their NCAA violations that always seem to get swept under the rug.

doesn't sound like it's a done deal yet. It will be interesting to see if any NCAA problems arise from the lawsuit against Reggie Bush.

Carroll would be stupid to leave USC...and the 'Hawks even dumber if they hire him. It is the 'Hawks though.  [cheeky]

shame on you. the dawgs are lots of fun to watch, especially in person. the battles 'tween the hedges are intense. well, perhaps not this year, but they did go to a bowl. (because everybody goes to a bowl. we are all special. we are all unique. just like everybody else. now lets sell some more commercials and tickets.)

Triple J

Looks like Carroll accepted the 5-year, $35M Seahawks offer. Can't blam hime...that's a lot of $$$!  :o

Good news is USC will probably struggle a bit...good news if you're a non-USC PAC-10 team fan anyway!  [cheeky]

I think he'll fail in the NFL and won't make it thru his contract...but we'll see.

Life is full of coulda shoulda wouldas. Those and $3.99 will get you a grande mocha latte frappawhatever at Starbucks. Texas put up a fight with what they had but lost with what they had. That's too bad but that is also reality. Would 'bama have won if they would have lost Ingram? Hard to say as Richardson was moving the ball pretty damned well himself (nearly as many carries as Ingram with a higher ypc).

Fact is,Texas lost. Gilbert did what he could and the kid has got a future at Texas. But the fact still remains that on that day in that particular game, Alabama was the better team.
