1999 M750 Dark (Carb) Needs The DMF Tech Help Again!

The DMF has been a huge help in getting my 99 M750 Dark back together. I'm almost there but need some help. The other day I got my gas tank back on to find out the vacuum operated "petcock" wasn't working so with the help of handy plumbing fittings I fixed that problem and the bike started no problem. I started it up a few times to make sure it wasn't a dream. LOL! I could rev it and there was no issue. I then shut her down for the day.
Next day put the complete exhaust back on and a new chain & sprockets. I go to start it and it will idle for a bit but not long and with no choke dies when i start to twist the throttle. Have I created an issue with plumbing the supply line direct & bypassing the non functional "petcock"? I have removed the exhaust to see if I created a problem there and that didn't help. I could remove the chain as well but doesn't make much sense to.

BTW prior to starting it up for the first time a day ago I had eliminated the charcoal emissions can. Any ideas or feedback is appreciated.

Thanks!!

Could be a stuck choke, can you see if the choke butterflies in the carb are opening when you switch the choke off?
