Im watching a truck on ebay from a smaller car dealer/lot.

They don't seem to want to answer my questions (which gives me a great feeling, but hey, even I have internet/mail issues sometimes) and there's no phone number in the listing.

The seller's name is 221grant.

From the pictures in the listing I have located (I think) the area the photos were taken in as there's a BP station across the street from a Family Dollar.  This is near grant street (funny huh?)

If you live in the area, can you post up the name of any possible dealers so I can get a phone number and actually talk to a person?

Any help is appreciated.

Oh, here's a link to the listing.

Not that this was what you were asking for, but....

Price seems a bit high for the condition and mileage. $250 doc fee? Seems a bit high. Check out his feedback. 24 feedback items and 4 negatives in the past 6 months warning that the guy is a liar and the item was not as advertised.

I'd reconsider...

Oh Im not foaming at the mouth to drop coin on the thing.  It is, however, close enough that I'd go take a look in person.

I agree on the $250 doc fee.

The price, though, I expect to be more like $6000-$7000 when the auction ends.  I've been watching ebay, craigslist, the paper, and autotrader for 8 months now.

These trucks bring the money.  2 years ago, if I'd have known, I'd have bought up all I could and then sell them now.

I'd be rolling in it.

I understand what you are saying. I don't know how the OH market views those trucks (every market is a little different) but a 2000 with 117K with torn leather interior? I wouldn't pay the $4k currently...

I'm pickin' up what you're droppin'

Sad to say that NY, OH and PA all are full of fools that sell these trucks for huge money, and buyers that pay it.

I guess the value is what the market will bear, and in this case it's not uncommon for me to find 97 or 98 MY trucks listed for $8000.  The cleaner ones get sold for that.

Ive seen 98's with 22500 miles listed for $5800.

I can not find a deal (what I consider a deal) for the life of me.

Sorry - late to this thread. Al and I both live in Akron. I looked at a couple of his auctions and the pics were taken in different areas. One was next to a U-Haul dealership (there's an Acme grocery in the background) near rt 261 and Hawkins. Another was taken in a residential area nowhere near there. The one you're looking at looks like it was from South Main and Wilbeth Rd in Firestone Park. That's across town from where the Explorer was photographed. Either way, these pics are shot behind a shopping plaza, and if it's where I think it is, it's behind a shopping plaza in a poorer section of town a few blocks from several buy-here-pay-here lots. IF he is a business, he's going out of his way to hide. If he's not a business, he probably wouldn't be charging a documents fee separate from the auction.

I'd recommend running from this.
