Hello, I'm planning on installing a dp low mount termi kit on my 08 695 this weekend. I have a few questions about the install:
Do I need to remove the o2 sensor and use the harness plugs provided?
Is a tps usually necessary on a 695, and can I do it myself?

Thanks .

is it just the exhaust cans? or the full deal?

if its the kit that includes the ECU then yes remove the O2 sensor and yes the TPS needs to be reset.  You can do it yourself if you have the VDST but I would HIGHLY recommend having a dealer install the ECU and set it up.  The primary reason for this is that all DP parts come with a 2 year warranty ONLY if a dealer does the install.  As expensive as an ECU is and as prone as they can be to going bad, the warranty is a very good thing to have.  Also a dealer will reset the TPS and SHOULD (make sure they do) set the trim by measuring exhaust gas.  Make damn sure they do both, in fact you might want to instruct them to set idle COs to 3.5% just to make sure its done right.

IMO the ECU is a radical waste of money if you don't actually have it set up for the bike to run properly.

Yes it is the full dp system: cans/ecu/filter.

Thanks woodyracing for the info, I was trying to avoid having to go to the dealer, since he's about an hour away. I consider myself pretty handy working on cars/ bikes and from what io heard it was a very easy diy, and in most cases won't need tps reset. And being a closed loop ecu wasn't sure if the sensor had to be removed or left in there.

I'm all for DIY stuff and you can certainly get almost as good of a result buying a VDST and doing the TPS reset yourself and you can play with the fuel trim and find what the bike "likes" at idle.  May not get quite as right on as a dealer could using an exhaust gas analyzer but close, the only thing you'd still be missing is the warranty on the ECU.
