Tailchop Bracket Schematic... Update!!! NOW FOR SALE!!!
«

I wasn't sure whether to post this here or in the How To section, so I posted in both, I hope It's not a problem
I saw somebody asking about this, so I decided to post the schematic for the tailchop bracket that I made. All that you need is a steel sheet, a dremel or other rotary tool, a drill, and a few beers...
The dotted lines is where you bend the metal. And the solid lines is where you cut it, all but the bottom of the first part. The little wings that extend to the side are for the blinkers, so if you have an integrated taillight, you dont need them.
Enjoy!
UPDATE! NOW FOR SALE
Ok guys, due to some interest expressed, I will now be making these to sell.
They will cost 30 bucks shipped.
They are made out of heavy duty 16 gauge steel and are pretty damn sturdy. Will post pics later.
Note:
I am not a professional metal worker and I do not have a shop. I work with a rotary cutting tool a hammer and drill. The finished product will not be completely perfect (Ie: not all lines will be machine straight), But it is completely functional and I stand by my work completely.
If anybody has any problem whatsoever with the kit, I will gladly refund or exchange it for them. Any time, anywhere, no questions asked. Kinda like a lifetime warranty, if you please.
So if anybody is interested, just shoot me a pm!
thanks!

This is a non-chop template I made in PROE sheet metal.
I would like to do another version that would include tabs to hold the turn signals.
I could try to draw up yours also in PROE?

I have the Autocad drawing of that somewhere, but I have to find it
The bad thing is that my student version just ended and they want me to pay 4 grand for it
If you could pass it onto PROE It would be very cool
Thanks!

I believe I used 16 or 18 gauge...
I found out that 22 gauge was too thin..
Glad that you found us
Thanks for the compliment!

I used your template Mitt and its awesome! I posted pictures of my bike before and after in the How-To version of this thread.
I downloaded it off the "other" forum more than a year ago and forgot that it was you I got it from

Is anyone thinking about making these and selling them to members? I need to do a tail chop and I don't have access to real tools or really have the skills to do a good job on something like that. I was looking at the Competition Werkes kit but its' $120...

I had kits made for the DML, so I could do it here also, just too busy at the moment. Maybe this winter we will get to it.

I would be interested in buying the full chop bracket if someone wanted to make a few and sell them.

Ok... I'll snap some pics of the assembly later on today... It mounts right under the frame, on the bolts that are closest to the locking mechanism...
