I thought this one was pretty good. The number of speeding cameras out here has become a little ridiculous and thankfully we have the monkey mask loophole.

I'M glad you posted that because I'm going to Arizona in January and knew nothing about that.

he sometimes wears a giraffe mask..........

I really wonder if the police, as they say, have pictures of him putting it on.

If so, shit.......they need more work then to stake out a speeder.

Yes, the number of radar/Cameras is out of control here!!  The monkey man has been photographed over 90 x's now.

It was starting back when I left in '06..now..it's out of hand.  People are always slamming on their brakes in front of me at intersections.  [roll]

I was next to a woman driving a Toyota here in Tempe who was wearing a welders mask.  Not very safe with an SUV full of kids..but..she can speed all she wants with it.

I was commenting on the cameras flashing on motorcyclists (me twice now in a week) as the light turned green.  I better not get an f"ing ticket for "taking off too fast"!!   >:(

I agree.  Those cameras are more about revenue than safety.

There is a rather small town near Newark, Ohio by the name of Heath, Ohio.

They installed the cameras earlier this Summer and last I heard people are really pissed.

So far the cameras have brought in $2,000,000 .

There's no way the  [leo]s  could write that many speeding tickets in the same amount of time.

they use speed cameras in school zones in Akron. I think that's an appropriate use of automated tickets because that has much more to do with safety. The program began after a university student was running late for school and killed a kid running late for fifth grade.

But monkey man deserves to be Colbert's Alpha Dog of the Week.

if the authorities truly cared about safety and wanted you to not speed, then your car would have a radio device which got an instruction from a transmitter and limited your speed.

people would whine and pregnant dog, but it could be done, the technology already exists..  then there would be no more speeding.

"Yelling out of cars, turning your speakers out the window to blast your music onto the street, setting off M-80 firecrackers, firing automatic weapons into the airâ€"these are all well and good. But none of them create a merry atmosphere of insouciance and bonhomie quite like a revving motorcycle.

you guys really think all the cameras are JUST for speeding? databasing... observation... and control.  has EVERYONE forgotten about Orwell's predictions?

if you use clear gloss matte paint you can paint a symbol on your license plate.

a guy i know made a stencil of "the bird" and sprayed it on his plate.

sure enough, when you flashed it in the dark, it just looked like a finger.

I don't agree with these cameras, as they are revenue generators.

But seriously..........

if people just wouldn't speed, you'd be fine.

They publish where the cameras will be.

Apparently speeding in the city limits will get you points on your license; mobile state police ones do not. I was talking to my Dad about it last night who lives in Tucson.
