S2R 800 tail chop without an actual chop?

Like any other newb with no mechanical skills whatsoever, the last thing I even want to think about is taking a hacksaw to the frame of my beloved Duc.  Is there any fender eliminator for the S2R 800 that works without actually chopping the frame?  Thanks in advance.

This is, IMO, the best looking no-chop tray...

It just about covers the length of the frame and exposes parts of it on the sides. Get LED plate lights while you're at it.

+1. I have the same one but I am so tempted to finally chop the tail. Soon, very soon...

do it. you know you want it...  [evil]

i am a fairly clumsy person and the wife made some very strange faces when i started to cut the frame of a couple months old beautiful bike, but the endresult justified it. i used the cw kit and i could do it without a problem. look up cairnsduc's tailchop how-to, lots of pics.

I've looked at the tutorial at great length and seems very reasonable to do. It's the hacksaw to the frame that is the only thing I have to overcome.

Anyone with a photo of short tail mounted? Looks pretty ok on monsterparts page...

Vin

can you post a few more pics  of the tail and the whole bike.

Also what do you have for directionals and tail lights.

If I get around to taking a few pics this weekend, I'll post them up. The signals are the Rizoma Track 01 model which I believe isn't being offered anymore. The tail light is stock.
BTW, I just ordered the CW tail chop kit from Monsterparts, so I'm going to take a saw to the frame and chop it. Which means I'll be selling this CF short tail very soon.

You will love the chopped look, I guarantee it. I just swapped today my OEM turn signals to Rizoma Track 77's (in the back only at this point, the front will be a bigger fight), and it looks great.

I've always loved the look! Just never had the balls to chop the frame.  ;D

I got this one off ebay a while ago:

These guys are legit and I had zero problems with the transaction. The reason why I went with this one was I don't have any carbon fiber on my bike and they offered their shorty tail in 2 versions, glossy black or flat black.

I had to modify the plate holder a little. i remember cutting it a bit shorter, it's probably designed with european plates in mind. If you look at one of the pics you'll notice the signal relocator tabs on the aluminum plate holder. I chopped those off too and drilled holes to match where the signals go on the CF piece. I sprayed the aluminum tag holder with flat black and it's held up fine. It might be cheaper but you might have to work it a little to get it right. That CF piece might be a perfect fit though.

I like the shorty tail.  Unless you live in the desert it keeps the swamp-butt down.  I've added pipe plugs from Corsair Industries ($10 ea) since this photo to finish off the look.

Local Ducati Club friend and fellow mod victim got the gloss black tray, mentioned and pictured (?) above.
He's thinking about an integrated light, so no signals yet.
The install was very straight forward, although he had to bend the light brackets to fit the light.
He also needs to cut the alu to get rid of the signal mounts, which are useless anyway (signals wouldn't clear the exhaust)
