Good article. Too bad it won't do anything other than what you just said. Tongue Worse still they probably won't even let him in the same room as the news conference. Oh well... thank goodness for MotoGP and WSBK. waytogo

Am I the only one that wants someone to torch the entire f'n house?  Just burn down the entire series, and watch while DMG tries to put out the fire.  Sure, I'd miss watching the occasion AMA race, and it'd be an unfortunate loss for American motorcycling and particularly for the up-n-coming generation.

But it'd be pretty great to be able to say to DMG, "This is what you wanted.  Have at it."  Something better will rise from the ashes.

There is that, and then "fans" like me.  I watched 1 AMA race last year.  0 this year.  I was not really a fan when it was "good", and they went the downhill from there.

AMA would have to get back to 2 years ago, and then improve another level or 2 before I would consider spending an hour in front of the TV to watch it.

IMO, DMG already did it, it's just not finished burning yet.

We all thought the 'breakaway' was a close thing this year, I expect some *serious* discussions starting soon.

I forsee DMG causing the utter collapse of the AMA racing series for road tracks ( because AMA motocross is it's own beast of burden that is strong and undying, or so it seems) and a larger national sanctioning body like WERA for example growing and filling AMA Road Racing's boots.

wera really has no desire to become ama pro racing. they've been down that road before.

I take it all back re DMG.  If they let me race a Ninja 250 in AMA, I'm their biggest supporter:

All part of the quest to have a 'control' bike.

Don't fall for the propaganda. Wink

This just in, new DMG/AMA classes for 2010:

BoT-1 = Ninja 2-fiddy

BoT-2 = 450 Single

BoT-3 = Stock Buell

BoT-4 = Buell RR

All Spec classes.

Remember, you heard it here first.

BoT  laughingdp That cracks me up!!

But, if they were really going to follow the CoT model with the BoT, wouldn't they resort to a 1988 Yamaha deltabox chassis with a 1960's Harley motor?

Oh, wait sorry I see you did list Buell RR. My bad.  Grin
