Dammit, idle issues again, throttle lag

Bike was just in for 12K last month, got it back, has been running like a champ. A few days after I picked it up, I noticed it was idling high, the mechanic did mention that the throttle cable had a crimp in it, ordered a new one, has yet to arrive. He did oil it and the assembly really good, temp fix seemed to solve it at the moment. Now, it is hard to start, dies on first fire, and has popped after I've filled the tank a few times. I've noticed on idle, it was staccato as usual, but I heard one cycle go low, like the bike was about to die, but it stayed running. I've also noticed the throttle body is not as throaty, nor are the Termi's. Seems the CO is off, yet again. Not sure why it keeps changing or what the issue is. I had him change the plugs to the recommended NGK Iridium when the 12K was performed, as was the base gasket issue repaired.  Any suggestions or insight?

PS. I added a K&N oil breather kit from TPO before I took in to the shop.

Perhaps fuel filter, or one of the fuel lines in the tank is perforated.

Been seeing this recently, *especially* on bikes that have been sitting for quite a while.
As the gas goes stale, it seems to really attack the fuel lines.

If you need to replace the hoses inside the tank, be sure to get hose that's rated for fuel immersion.
Either the OEM hose, or Gates hose that meets SAE 30R10 rating (http://www.gates.com/brochure.cfm?brochure=5091&location_id=541)

Best bet is to take it back to the guy who did the 12k....

we replaced all filters, in tank and out. I had the bike torn down pretty good for the base gasket repair, I told them to go ahead and replace all the filters/gaskets etc. It seems if something keeps going out of sync, and the sound of the throttle bodies always changes when this happens, more dirt bike sounding than throaty. I'm a  sound engineer, so I notice change in sounds pretty easily.
