Hey guys,

I have been having a hard time trying to decide what clutch cover and pressure plate I want to use on my new 996 so until I can make up my mind (which may be never) I made my own.

I took a stock clutch cover and cut out the Ducati "D" with a jigsaw and then used a dremel and hand file to clean it up a bit. When I was all done I had it powdercoated gloss black. I also cleaned up an extra stock pressure plate I had around and painted it with red brake caliper paint and added some stainless springs and gold caps from one of my previous bikes.

Here's some pics. Tel me what you guys think.

Before.......

After.......

Great work on the clutch cover!

I would pick up a billet pressure plate instead though, personally not a fan of painted plates.

I'm not huge on painted plates either but I can't decide which aftermarket plate I want to go with. It actually looks better in person on the bike.

ill agree, it looks good but grab a new pressure plate once you can pick one, or when the wallet/wife allows

overall great work!

Bones

once you get the billet pressure plate (assuming it's going to be red) you can also get this special VHT red anodize-look paint for the bolt heads. I used the paint on my steering stem cap and it looks great.

 [clap] looks good!

I did a similar thing myself with an $11 clutch cover from ebay. I left my pressure plate unpainted as I wanted the mod to look like it was 'stock.'
