Thanks for your input.

Nice.  Had to laugh at the comment about a new M696 with ABS making it rider friendly.  The M696 is already rider friendly.  Also no mention of a rumour I heard of a new LAMS Ducati or maybe that's what the smaller 'tard is  cheeky cheeky (I'm joking!)

It might sound attractive but I'd be putting my hard earned into a good pre-loved 1100.
The power might only be slightly higher but the torque is a decent leap.
Of course it depends on pricing.

I think the LAMS you speak of Heather is a single that has been doing the rounds for a while.
It has a mini SBK look to it.

True, but, I have heard that the 1100 is a bit of a handful when it comes to riding around town. Which isn't a bad thing really. This one may be a tad lighter and therefore, much easier to handle and throw about.

Anyway, my heart is set on a 749 dark.  [moto]

Saw a very nice 749 at the Mean Fiddler the other weekend. That shape is just stunning.

No different to a s2r1000 or other 992cc engined duke. in fact, other than ride height, it may be easier to ride around town because of how light the bike is and wider steering angles.  waytogo

also the other downer for riding in town is the wide bars and flip out mirrors, but either way, i love my HM.

i personally don't see the point in them releasing a hm796..

Just do what Ptooey does and use the speed limits signs as 'suggestions' and work your way up from there!!!  Grin

oh and may i add-- i don't know how anybody could think the HM has too much power to even consider having a smaller cc one.

i really dig the 992 and 1078 DS engines. they're just perfect.

the testrastretta engines however...  Shocked

That's all they are just a guide to how fast you can take corners on half lean.

my sentiments exactly..  Wink
