this afternoon i was driving down a narrow (tree and stone wall lined) country road near my house (in my huge truck.) started down a hill which has a serious curve on the end of it, so im going really slow as i enter the curve.

guy on an old POS KAWI comes around the curve in the uphill direction, already over the yellow line, and aimed right at the blue oval.

he grabs the front brakes, stands the bike up, and promptly high sides it right in front of me.......bike and guy are tumbling up the road at me.

i stand on my brakes, aim it for the stone wall and hope for the best. luckily, we all come to a stop before any contact damage is done.

i helped the guy and his bike up, insured he was ok, and then, in answer to his statement "i dont know what happened" we have a (pleasant) discussion about staying in your lane, looking into the turn (apex driving), and what happens when you grab all your brakes...

anyway, that was enough excitement for me today.  drink

Exciting stuff.  Better to lecture him than power wash him off your drivetrain.

+1

I'm sure he went home thinking about the riding habits he needs to change, but hopefully the (fortunately not terribly painful) lesson will stick with him.

His version to his buddies will start with, "make the beast with two backsing cage was in my lane, my only choice was to lay it down."

I'm glad he made it to tell his lies anyway.

Was he wearing his gear?
