Sure I do but you would think within 2cc's of each other there would be some more similarities.

displacement numbers aren't everything. you're looking at a 2 valve air cooled vs. a 4 valve watercooled motor.

or to add to it, what about a liter 4-banger? similar displacement...

I can sure feel the difference between the 1100 and the 1098 now that I have been riding the bike a few days.

The bike wash girls that were waiting at Brea for me today.

right now (sunday, 12:30pm as i type this) as long as you are staying a lot farther away from the double-yellow then the guy in the video, you should be having a great, enjoyable and SAFE ride right now!   [moto]

I can see them.
They are some sweet pics too. Check back later if you still can't see them.

Hey ducatitorrey I noticed on your dark you got the db killas removed.
How long did you ride with them in? When I got my 696 they were missing and I needed ear plugs going any freeway or distances that loudness followed me everywhere.
I'm loving the stock cans on my F1098 now I can listed to music again with my iPod.

Very VERY jealous.  I have some financial things to take care of, and after that, pretty sure I'm getting either the StreetFighter or M1100S.

Both are awesome bikes for sure.   bow down bow down bow down

i have a dark 696, but if i had the money and if both bikes were out at the time i bought mine, it would be either a m1100S black full termi, or a black SF. I actually think i would do the SF now. Its so sick! bacon

A pause for the cause.

I really like the lights under the headlight that stay on after the engine is off a minute.
My 696 had them too but they were dim compaired to the streetfighters.
This shot was taken going into my unlit garage with my iPhone camera with just those on.

To bad the black paint is only offered on the S. It's the same pearl that the white has they shot it on my trellis frame.
I'm considering swaping my lower red panels out with some black ones down the road to give the bike a more naked apperance. They are the most recogniseable feature from a distance I know a streetfighter when I see that piece.
Today I re-located those silver frame stickers to under the rear seat battery area, much cleaner looking now.
Nobody cares about the db rating, tire pressure, chain tension but me so only I can read them now.

Hey Guys they are selling both demo S models at Newport right now with termis already installed! Discounted over the price of a new bike OTD, buying them and having them installed for way less and I believe both have the first service already done. The F1098S just turned 1000 miles old and doesn't need anymore HP in my opinion the M1100S is fun too. laughingdp

They have my 696 for sale now also on the floor. The Termi's reminded me of cherry bombs on my 696.
I prefer the stock exhaust now after having both the termi's just increase noise and reduced MPG
with everyone complaining about stopping every 100 miles at best, one guy after installing his Termi''s on an 848 is getting 70 miles before the reserve light comes on. But he admitted to reving the motor and riding in the 6-7k range because he prefered the sound.  drink

decisions, decisions. Nice kind of problem.

08 1098S 16K mls with Akrapovic's: I get roughly 130 in town or canyon riding,  160+ highway.

I have a friend that stops no matter what on his 1098 every 100 mls (Has the Termi kit).  He still to this day says "Wow, it only held a couple of gallons"    bang head
