A Most Magnificent Monster

« on: October 03, 2009, 05:36:48 AM »

Was in Miami these past few days on business and visited Miami Ducati's shop in Miami Gardens.  What a fabulous place!!  Layed out almost like a museum.  Gorgeous bikes...they also sell MVs, Benelli, and Bimota.  If you stop by, make sure you say hello to Desmo.

Our local shop's Desmo is a toy poodle.  Would be funny to see the two Desmo's side-by-side!    Grin

Is it required to have a shop dog?  My local shop has three and seems every other shop has at least one.

That dog is awesome, and enormous. The guy I spoke with said it was an old Italian breed I had never heard of. It was certainly in the mastiff line, really a cool dog. I have a 5lb chihuahua and Desmo takes bigger dumps than my little dude. I think mine attracts more poon though. Say what you will about the little dog, but the chica's love him.

I've also heard their service is sketchy, but I have no experience yet. I'm hoping someone further north picks up the brand now that Pure Ducati/Triumph went belly up a few months back. I rode down from Boca because my engine paint is peeling off.  They took/sent pictures to HQ in Italy. I was told about 1.5-2 weeks ago that Ducati was still on Holiday and not gotten back to them yet. Are they yanking me or what?

For non-warranty service take it to Chris Boy instead of down to Miami. Where abouts in Boca? Are you the guy I've seen riding around a dark?

Chris did my 7500 mile service. The paint is a warranty issue, so I am stuck going down there. I have a white 696, and live in NE Boca.

My in-laws live off Yamato, but I haven't seen a white 696 yet.
