He did a decent job fixing that tank up, but I don't know if I'd be willing to pay $4k for it, esp. if it's a salvage title.  Eh, who knows?

Does it have a salvage title?  The add said it was an auction bike, but never mentioned the title being a salvage affair...

Perhaps not.  I was assuming a bit, and tired.  And stupid.

This is my dream bike:

I've always wanted an RC51, but a nice one has never come up for sale until now . . . too bad i've got negative cash flow right now.

Yea, he wanted to show off all the fine detail on that machine.  Wink

But more importantly, does anyone know of anyone else who might want to buy a lightly used '07 S2R800?  Wink

Yea, that is what I was planning on doing.  I have been looking around and see lots of 695s and other 800s going for the high seven low eight thousand mark.  Too bad we are all the way out in the middle of an ocean.  Sure would be easier to sell, and replace, if we were on the mainland.

Ain't that the truth? Plus we'd have a much larger inventory of used bikes to pick from too. It cost me $1,700.00 to have the Monster crated and shipped from Omaha. Cough. Paradise tax. Cough.

$1700?  That sucks!  I was hoping to see a lower number than that!  Mind if I ask who you used to ship it down here?

And for those that are interested, here is a classic BMW for sale:

This thing would probably be LOTS of fun too:

JC Shipping.  That was the price of the crate, shipping the crate to Omaha, loading up the bike and bringing it back to Long Beach and then shipping over here. We went down to the freight forwarder here with  a flat bed. I still have the crate (I hope) at my old shop.

I still don't care for the high upright seating on the 'tards.  One reason why I don't have one.

Seems to me.  He sent me two emails about it, and in the first said that he had been down to SS, earlier today no less, and looked at the 696.  Said that he did not find it to his liking...
