Hey everyone,

Is anybody in the forum live around the Syracuse, NY area? Im looking to get a 696 after I get home from Afghanistan and looking for the best deal around the Fort Drum/Syracuse area. I would be also willing to travel to Albany,Rochester, Buffalo if need be. Ive found a small shop that says they can order them but im looking someone who has expirience with purchasing in the area.

Thanks, Patrick

I purchased my Monster at Thunder Alley in Fulton NY but they closed their doors about 3 weeks after I picked it up.  There is a place in Holland NY called Williamsville Competition (I guess it used to be in Williamsville) which is about 30 miles south east of Buffalo http://www.fasteurobikes.com/ .  I stopped at Williamsville Competition when I found out the other place closed.  Doesn't look like much from the outside but the 2 guys in the shop (Al runs the place and I can't remember the other guys name) seemed like really good guys.  They changed my front sprocket in about 25 minutes while I waited.    I was also pleasantly surprised when I got into the shop.  They seem to have a bunch of parts in stock and will order anything.  When I was there they had a good number of bikes in stock.  Monster 696, 1100, Superbikes 848, 1198, a Bayless 1098 (it was really sweet), I think they had a Streetfighter, I saw a Sport Classic outside and a Hypermotard and a bunch of KTM dirtbikes and a few others I can't remember.  They also have a bunch of Ducati gear.  I was supposed to go in and get my Termis installed last week but it was a miserable cold and rainy day.  They offered to trailer the bike the 90 miles to the shop and back (not sure how much they would have charged me though) but I decided to wait until this week.  They are installing the pipes tomorrow so I should be able give a better report tomorrow.

The other guy in the shop is named Jeff, the puppy is Monza.

Al covered the shipping of my ST4 back from NC as a wedding gift.  He has a guy that runs all over WNY for him fetching and delivering bikes.  He would have been reasonable on the cost of picking up/delivering your bike.

The others bikes in the shop were probably Huskvarnas and/or Moto Guzzis.

I don't know what you are talking about.  I left my house this AM and it was a balmy 45 degrees and it isn't even supposed to snow until next week. [thumbsup]

Had the work done on the Monster today.  As I suspected Williamsville Ducati was awesome.  They gave me donuts and offered to drive me to the pizza place down the street (they were busy so I walked).  The Termis installed, the oil changed, and I was on my way in less than 2 hours.   I wish I had done my homework when I bought the bike and gone straight to this place.

Patrick,
It is a long drive from Watertown but you said you were willing to drive as far as Buffalo and it is about the same distance.  I hope you are home safe from Afghanistan soon.  If you have any questions let me know I will help if I can.  Should be a great place to ride with the Adirondacks so close to you.

Oh im looking forward to it. Southern California has the twisty roads(Im originally from Glendora, CA so i have GMR right in my backyard...someone here should know what GMR is lol) But Ny has the way nicer rides it seems. My girlfriend and I are always down for a road trip to Buffalo is definately reasonable to get a good price and service. Ive been in Afghanistan for about 10 months now and im soooo looking forward to getting home(lake effect snow and ice covered roads, here i come!)

Once I get home i will get in better contact with people in the Buffalo area and see what we can do. Thanks@

Done. I live in Pittsford...

+1 to everything about Al and Jeff. Got my S2R from them last year for an unbelievable price (+full termi), I have been back for a clutch cover+pressure plate change since, which Jeff did in 15 minutes. While there, I was also allowed to salivate over a Desmosedici they were sending to Beverly Hills the next day. Very good people.  [thumbsup]

Isn't is OC chopper?  That is near NY city isn't it?  NYC is even farther than buffalo. I would think that has to be over 5 hours from Watertown.

These guys are in Albany.

Bought my S4R there but I don't use them for parts or service.

Ducati Hudson Valley is, though owned by the same people, separate from OCC.  Let's give them a chance before bashing them.  I've never heard anything but good about Williamsville.
