I hope not.  You thinkin' the same thing I am?  The bike pictured is not a 900 (based on a single disk). 

To answer your question, the power difference is noticeable, but not like if you were to climb on a literbike.  The 1000 feels smoother and has a bit more oomph, but it's not like night and day.  My butt dyno tends to find that a pretty hopped-up 900 is fairly comparable to a mostly stock 1000.  The bigger thing is probably that your 900 is down on power from being 10 yrs old whereas any new bike (or a rebuilt engine on your 900) will feel more peppy.

If you still have the stock suspension on your 750 my thoughts are that you're not only upgrading on more oomph from a bigger/newer motor, but would also benefit from an upgrade on suspension.

I have a '99 m750 and the suspension difference between that and my stock s4 (which is the same showa setup as on the S2R1K) was instantly noticeable. The stock 750 suspension never felt like the front wheel was planted on the ground and delivered poor feedback (forks maybe also just needed refreshing).

If you want to upgrade I would sell the 900, probably fetch $4-4.5K and take the $5k you were going to sink into the 1K and go shopping.

Look, even if you *can* find a way to make another key, it's not what you want. What you want is the red key and the code card. If nothing else, I don't really like buying a bike that other people may have the key to, nor does it make you come across as well organized if you're selling a bike without all the things it should have. It'll hurt your resale, and sales possibilities overall.


Also, buying a bike that is so very similar to yours is silly. It's like having two pairs of black shoes (Note, this argument only makes sense to men, not women)-there's just no need.

Test ride this one, if you like the power, get one similar (though for more power, look at the water cooled series-you're not gaining much here), and sell the old one. If it's not that different, just save the money you should spend, and get a 944 kit.
