I can't wait until Marquez gets on his level and makes Jorge trip on his tampon string.

What a joke, did he take a dive? Or couldn't bring himself to retire so he just gave it up.

He got caught. He has acted like that in several of his past fights, he just didn't count on Weidman landing anything.

He can't retire, he just signed a ten fight contract.

This.

He was showboating like he does, but Weidman wasn't falling for it. You could see it in his face when he went back to his corner at the end of round one, Silva was frustrated because his taunting WASN'T getting under his opponent's skin.

Flash forward to that fateful exchange. Silva faked being dazed and wobbled right into the path of Weidman's left. On the slo-mo, it looks an awful lot like Silva was following/expecting that right to come back at him. Weidman almost looked like he'd forgotten about his own left hand, then looked down and was like "Oh, yeah! I have one on that side, too!"

*BAM*

Landed flush on the button.

The real-time version shows just how quickly Silva went down. You don't intentionally bounce your head off the canvas like that.

Once again, boxing skills rule.

If by "boxing skills," you mean "taking your opponent seriously and keeping your guard up," then yes.

I mean boxing rules over the ground game.

Be aware who you make the beast with two backs with, or pay the price.

Too many variables to make that assessment. A pure boxer with no ground game may very well be destroyed by a ground fighter with no boxing.

As far as this fight goes.. Weidman dropped him standing and finished him...on the ground.

Submission my ass.  :D

Alot of those "knockouts" did not involve any "boxing".  :)

True, but nobody was ground fighting.
