On, a side note;  Dana White invited Kimbo to be on the next TUF.  How disrespectful is that?  Gotta love the pres!

Why is that disrespectful?  What has Kimbo done to show that he belongs in the most highly-competitive MMA promotion around?  Guys with loads more experience that Kimbo started in the UFC through the TUF show: Bonnar, Griffin, Mac Danzig, and a host of others.

If you think for a second that I want to see Kimbo suceed or even do well your wrong.  I think Kimbo got just what he deserved and more.  Yes, it wasn't fair for Elite XC to put him in the position but he really acted like he thought he belonged.  I just mean't that he probably felt disrespected because he went from headlining a show to not having a job in 1 day and now Dana is asking him to be in a show based on young, talented fighters trying to get into the UFC.

I love MMA and Kimbo (Elite XC) made a mockery of it.

You're right about the other fighters and this season has some good ones too.  I don't like his attitude but that Vinny guy is dangerous with the Jitz.

On a side note;  Who here is tired of Cornheiser and Wilbon dissing MMA?  If they don't like it they shouldn't talk about it and Wilbon just goes on and on about how horrible and bloody it is and doesn't ever talk about any of the good points or true competition in the sport. He always tries to hype up and praise boxing which we all know is going downhill.  Once dudes in their 50 and 60s stop watching boxing MMA will be the more popular fight sport by far.  I love PTI but whenever they talk about MMA it just pisses me off.

I can't wait for tomorrow.  Brock is going to show why he belongs and Couture's going to get handled.  Just because Brock pro-wrestled for 4 years means he is some kind of poser huh?   He is going to knock Couture out in the second round.  Oh, and go back and look at Randy's career, he got a title match in basically the same postition as Lesnar is now.  When Brock wins tomorrow night are you going to give him credit or say he beat a champ that is old and past his prime?

Either way this fight is good for the sport and watching MMA is my favorite thing to do.

Anyone see the fight card for next month's PPV.  Griffin/Evans, Big Nog/Mir, Wandy/Rampage, and 2 or 3 other really good fights.  Might be the best show of the year.

Either way this fight is good for the UFC's bottom line

Fixed it for you.  I don't really see how this fight is "good for the sport."  It's a newcomer against a champion, and a huge draw.  Randy has his work cut out for him; historically, he has had trouble with the big guys (Barnett, Rodriguez).  He's definitely going to have a plan, though.  I think it will be a good fight.

No I think it is good for the sport and the UFC's bottom line.  They talked about this on Sports Center yesterday and it is on ESPN.COM.  Lately the only coverage of MMA has been Elite XC and Kimbo Slice and how Kimbo is a street fighter and a thug. Now they are talking about this fight and how both of these guys are great amature wrestlers.  I think it is going to be a good fight too.  Randy got a titile shot with just 4 fights under his belt when he came into the UFC so this is not that much different.  Lesnar whether you like him or not is going to be at least the face of the heavy weight division and probably for the company as a whole.

I think (and by no means am I an expert) the Randy is going to want to keep it standing early because he knows what Lesnar's strengths are; wrestling and ground and pound.  Lets face it Randy does have some submissions but he is no expert in jitz and I would say that Lesnar can probably break most holds he gets put in by Randy by sheer strength.  We haven't seen much of Lesnar's stand-up but he knocked both Mir and Herring down with just simple jabs.  If it comes to them trading punches you have to give Randy the advantage becuase he is the more accomplished striker but I believe it is going to be hard (and this is just speculation since we haven't seen Lesnar get hit much) to knock Lesnar out since his neck muscles are about as thick as my thighs.  If they stand there and bang Lesnar is going to knock Randy out or knock him down and gNp until the ref calls it simply because he hits so hard.

Then again I could be wrong because Randy keeps getting into these big matches and wins them easily.  I wouldn't bet against Randy anytime.

Have you ever walked into a solid, stiff jab?  It's not fun.  Neck muscle size has absolutely nothing to do with how easy someone is to knock out.  You get hit on the "button", you're going out; plain and simple.  It's about the jaw, not the neck.

Don't forget Randy started his fighting career as a wrestler. So for that reason Brock isn't a poser. But if he were to win, I don't think it's because he's a talented MMA fighter. You can't wrestle someone to death. Brock is more of a circus act at this point. I am a Couture fan, and I don't mind seeing him lose to someone like Liddel, but not Brock. Now Brock fighting Kimbo on some internet site is more fitting.

It's tough watching a personal hero go down. Can't say I saw the fight going any differently though. Lesnar would've been a tough nut to crack for Couture's skill set. But for a little bit, it looked like he might've pulled out a miracle. Still, I can't see Lesnar getting by some of the big jiu jitsu experts like Nog, Mir and Gonzaga. All of which I could see Couture beating.

Still, congratulations to Lesnar. He made a good fight and wasn't a total tool after he won. I respect him but will never root for him. His interview on ESPN pretty much cemented that.

I agree with the first part, but I'm still not ready to give Lesnar credit for anything yet.
