I wouldn't say he was a human punching bag but he has lost it a little.  Mir hit him less than 10 times.  I think Mir outclasses him in every way.  Caine does not.   Plus Mir was trying to make a statement to get the next big paycheck when he fights Lesnar.

Silva/Bisbing- someone is getting KTFO.  Hopefully Bisbing's jerk ass.  But maybe Silva getting worked could finally mean retirement and I think that would be a good thing for his long-term health.

Big Nog was just a bit behind Velasquez from the opening bell.  I'm not sure if he was out, but he sure didn't look like he was offereing any resistance to Velasquez's strikes from the mount.

Wanderlei fought about as strategic a fight as I've ever seen him fight.  It's weird to talk about strategy and Wand Silva in the same sentence...  If Bisping was going to out-point Wand, the one thing he couldn't do was get floored late in a round.  Sure enough, Wand floored him late in the 3rd.  Wand probably stole that decision with one punch in the last ten secods of the fight.  Bisping was pissed at himself.

Sotiroupoulos looked really good.  He's not ready to topple BJ yet, but he could muck up the top 155 rankings.

Hardy's a pretty good fighter. Saw him knock out Rory Markham a while back.
But like Anderson Silva I don't think anyone can beat GSP right now.

anybody heard anything about Lesnar lately?

GSP will roll this guy.  Hendo was looking like he might be able to give GSP a fight but I don't see anyone else being ready anytime soon.

Lesnar is training now and supposedly is back to his normal weight.  I just saw a picture of him a couple of weeks ago and he looked even more ripped than before.

Because they had already decided Mir-Carwin was for an interim belt, Lesnar is just waiting for the winner of that fight to unify the belts.  Watch for Cain to push for a title fight soon though.  That guy looked ridiculous against Big Nog.

Lack of suitable challengers, IMHO.

Swick and Kampmann were supposed to fight to determine the next shot at GSP's belt, but Swick concussed himself training and Daley filled his spot on the card - and destroyed Kampman in like half a round.  Then Hardy stepped in against Swick in the next event and toasted Swick, leaving both guys that were supposed to be next in line with recent losses.

I'd have liked to see Hardy fight Daley to hash out the next challenge to GSP, but GSP had already been idle for 3 or 4 months.  I think the UFC picked the recent winner with the better record to challenge GSP instead of having GSP wait.

+1 Maybe move GSP into different weight classes.

GSP has said he would fight Anderson Silva but would need a year to gain the muscle needed to jump a weight class.

That would be a ridiculous fight.

Silva would have the reach advantage, but GSP would have a HUGE wrestling advantage. That would be a great chess match.

Silva's muay thai vs. GSP's kyokushin... I guess that is about the closest thing we'll get to Silva/Machida.

But yeah, that would be an excellent matchup.

^^I think this is a bit of a reach.  It would have to be at a catch weight of 190 or something, I don't see Machida being able or willing to cut that much.  It really sucks that Silva and Machida won't fight each other. That would be the best matchup of all.

I would love to see Silva move up even more than 205.  Supposedly he walks around at 230 or so.  If the UFC gets Fedor I would love to see them fight!

Absolutely!!!!

Still if your going to dream, dream big right?

This next PPV should be pretty damn good.  Mir/Carwin is shaping up to be a great fight.
