I felt pretty bad for Drwal. Other than that, not much excitement.
It seems like every time they host somewhere on the East Coast, the card is very wrestling-heavy (granted, Fitch is from Indiana, but still...). The wrestlers are very effective at neutralizing striking with takedowns and smothering guard game, but watching a two-hour card of palm-forehead-to-short-elbow techniques just doesn't do it for me.
112 looks somewhat thin as well... Silva-Maia has potential and Penn-Edgar looks like fireworks, but the rest of the card doesn't do much for me.
I heard Palhares was suspended for a while for that shit, holding on 5 secs longer than needed was lame.
Being from the dirty Jerz I was pretty happy that all of the hometown boys won. It was pretty heavy on the wrestling, but I enjoy that. Watching GSP was pretty entertaining. He put on a takedown clinic and dominated Hardy. A KO would have been fun to watch, but he man handled Hardy and was hands and feet above him in strengh and skill.
Pellegrino not getting choked out (with one arm in a body triangle!!!)... HOLY SHIT! That boy's got some fight in him.
As much as I would love to see Edgar win, I think BJ is on another level. A friend of mine was rolling around with him over the summer and Edgar felt the same way...
