My dark tank will be replaced by DucPond in a week or so.  My current dark tank has been stripped of the Ducati decal (in actuality, the dealer thinks the tank was repainted by the previous owner).

I realized this morning lying in bed that the new tank will have decal.  I don't want a decal.  How can I remove it?  Is the decal covered with a clear by Ducati?  If not, what removal techniques are recommended?  I want to do it ASAP so as to not leave a shadow on the tank once it sits in the sun for a while.

I changed the decals on my dark tank. My decals had no clear coat painted over them. I used a little bit of heat from heat gun to peel away the decals. Then I used a paint-safe adhesive remover (Goo-Gone AUTOMOTIVE formula) and a soft cloth (microfiber towel) for the remaining residue. Paper towels may leave scratches.

Thanks.  How long had the sticker been on the tank (ie did you remove it immediately) and was there any shadow?

They were on for about 2 years - no shadow.

Hair dryer works good too.
