Looks good just worried the quality might be shady . Although it seems many ebay sellers are selling directly what they might ship to legit companies right on ebay ... Anyone use any of the pressure plates or clutch covers ?

I'd purchase from a board sponsor.

I do a lot of searching on E-bay, but I am not a big purchaser. I have never bought anything from outside the states. That being said, I would really like to buy one of the slipper clutches from Italy. They are around the $500 range where as the ones sold from retailers here are close to the 1K range. I just don't want to get caught in that whole foreign scam thing.

So.... a Chinese knock-off for $100 or the real thing made in the USA and supplied by a reputable enthusiast at over double the cost? >>

I installed on one a 749... got pics of the clutch itselp. From the way its packaged... i wouldnt doubt the fact that DP relabels these and sells them as Ducati Performance kits... OR they go out of their way to make it seem that way. top notch quality from the look of the material and craftsmenship though.

That ebay one knocks off speedy-motos Khukri mill pattern, as far as the basic look. One important distinction is that the Speedymoto version is a lot taller and protects the springs/posts. The ebay one isn't - it'll be more like the thickness of a stock plate, leaving the springs exposed. I'm sure this saves on materials cost, since you don't need a big a hunk of aluminum to make the part.. also copying someones distinct mill work will save you some expense...

I haven't been into ducati that long, in fact I'm in between then at the moment -- (just sold my M400 and It'll be late Jan Early Feb 2010 before I'll be getting the M900 Chormo) But have done abit of reading on this site -- I've not seen anyone/anything said about Slingshot racing --
http://www.slingshotracing.net/catalog/ducati-cnc-billet-clutch-pressure-plate-p-75.html
-- I've bought a Lot of parts from them, Including getting in for other people, here in New Zealand the flywheel, P.Plate, Clutch Hub, ETC.
I've found them well price, and the fact I'm on the other side of the world and get the parts within two weeks...
Just abit supprised that I've seen nothing said about these guys.

SSR pops up as a subject from time to time. I recall threads about their clutch hub and flywheel. They have been slowly growing their line. I first found them when they only made s couple items like gp shifters and resevoir covers.

One funny part about this thread is someone already mentioned a "USA" brand that sources all it's mass-machining overseas. Just because the company has an office here, doesn't mean it's actually making the stuff here. And no, I won't say who....and it's probably a lot more than just one.

It doesn't look as tall as the SM plate, but it doesn't show one installed, so who knows. Either way, yes it's a knock-off, but is the possible difference in height worth twice the price? I know in protection yes, but in material costs? Not likely. SM could like still sell the plate at $150 and make a good profit...

Have browsed through some of their stuff thought about buying it even. Quality is probably OK, decent price, most power sellers on Ebay from China ship pretty quick. But......I think of how that person selling those products has blatantly ripped off someones else's product and how much that pisses me off. I refrain from buying their products simply because of that to each their own.

Well each mm smaller the blank needs to be, is less cost. Less raw materials cost, and less time on the mill to shave away all that extra - time's money. As far as twice... I've no clue.

Ok, I've Import some of these type of parts from State side (and AU) to NZ-- And I've Just had one Bite me Back, a Light Flywheel, Customer I sold it to, is of corse Not Happy, as it Let go within half a hour of Riding.
I'm Now Not going to buy any of the Cheaper Drive parts, unless there have been a lot of Good reviews on them.
Reservoir covers and Other Bling Parts Fine-- But I'll be very weary of any part that has some type of stress / load on them.
My $1 Worth.
